Carvin CC 275

Tonight at a gig, a long time fan gifted one of my band mates with a Carvin CC275 guitar.

I'd never heard of this model, and had to look it up when I got home. I can't travel with my partners
any more, because I'm taking care of my lady love through a serious illness, but I played with them
this evening. It was a short range gig. *grins...

Libby wasn't expecting to be given two guitars this evening. She and David left the venue
tonight (The Flushing Michigan 'Riverview Park Concert Series') and are going far far north,
into the Michigan U.P. and into Northern Wisconsin, but I came home. I'm not going on that
tour. Libby asked me if I would take the two instruments home, so they didn't have to haul
them in the minivan. I was only too happy to comply. *smiles

She didn't realize what a guitar slut she was handing her gifts off to.
In my experience, women often don't understand this kind of OCD. They have their own...

Anyway, here's the Carvin:

Neck-through mahogany body, mahogany wings attached top and bottom, figured maple top,
Ebony fretboard with MOP 'eagle" inlays... L.R. Baggs "ribbon piezo" pickup... introduced in
2001. Sperzel locking tuners, gold hardware.

Anybody know anything about this model, or have any experience with them?
I don't... but my curousity is aroused. When I got home this evening, I put a 9V batt'ry
in it and plugged it into my trusty Orange Micro Terror. I thought this rig sounded
pretty good. I believe I saw one offered online for about $750 US... But the CC-275
might be worth more.

I don’t know about this model, but I’m familiar with Carvin guitars, in general.

They are one of the best-kept secrets in the guitar world.

All of their guitars are pretty high-quality instruments.

A friend of mine has a Carvin acoustic and it is one of the best-sounding acoustics I’ve heard.

Another friend loaned me a Carvin Strat-style guitars a few years ago and it was very nice.

Incidentally, Carvin is now Kiesel guitars.

No idea of value and not familiar with the model, but it looks awesome and Carvin/Kiesel's have always been great playing and sounding guitars.

Sorry to hear of your lady's health issue: Godspeed.
Looks and sounds from what the more experienced here say is that is a quality instrument.
What is the value?
Play it; you tell us.

It really is Sweet! Libby and her BF Mike came over and brought stuffed Green Peppers
this evening, and we sat around and played that guitar and the other one, which I had not
even touched while she was gone. I had tuned it and rubbed it down, and she played it
and bonded with it very quickly. That Carvin is a real prize IMHO. It's not really an acoustic,
because it feels like an electric, and it sounds like one through my Orange Micro Terror.

The 'other guitar' turned out to be a 1960s Fender Villager 12 string Acoustic guitar... no pickup.
It has a few issues from years of neglect and string pressure, and it needs some work. But that's
a pretty cool gift as well. The Fender Villager was introduced in 1965, and hers has a five digit
serial number, which means to me that it's an early model. Fender serial numbers from that time
period (the changeover to CBS Fender) are sometimes confusing, but CBS introduced serial
numbers with six numbers, not five. I didn't photograph that one.
