Let me clarify something.


All this tele talk love/hate is for fun, I never :poo: on anyone's choice of guitar. it can be Tele ,lp, or broom, as long as you are happy that's all it matters. Even tho I don't like Tele, like @Metal89 said I'm happy when someone gets a new guitar and I'm exited for them as getting new guitar is exiting thing. If we all liked the same thing, this world would be boring. When I say something's in response to tele thing it's all with laughter and jokes... ( no personal attack is intended)

You play what makes you happy, and I'll play what makes me happy. I enjoy this tele talk thing, and I'm getting good laughter out of it, and I hope you are too.

And Let's not forget that not everything was as successful as the Tele. The Les Paul never sold in great numbers and was discontinued in 1960.

The Flying V and Explorer were dismal failures. They only made something like 100 of each in their debut year of 1958, and did not even sell all of them. That's why the original '58s are so valuable; because it was the only year they were made, until they were reissued many years later.

Youre largely right on this. Actually the prototype Broadcaster was patent applied for in 1948, but was never actually designed until the later half of 1949 and looked very different than the production model.

It however, was shut down over the name by Gretsch due to a similarity in the name of a line of drums they had called Broadkasters ( stupid i know). In 1950 the first true models ( esquires initially and Telecasters immediately after that same year) hit the main stream, 2 years before the first production Les Paul

The Flying V, Explorer and Moderne all were prototyped in 1957 by Gibson's Futuristic Line, on orders from Ted McCarty. The Moderne was never put into production until 1982. The Flying V and Explorer debuted in 1958 with 81 V's shipped and 19 Explorers shipped. In 1959 it was only 17 Flying Vs shipped and 3 Explorers, making the 1959 the rarest year of both known guitars. They had actually both kept in production until 1963 but the numbers of each are almost untraceable: roughly 38 between 1960-1963 with leftover bodies and 1960s parts.

My fingers wouldn't reach the 7th string, let alone the 8th. My little finger can't reach the 6th string on my Telecaster above the third fret...

There's a Fender toilet seat/boat paddle, it's called "Telecaster". There's a Gibson toilet seat/boat paddle, it's called Les Paul.

One is heavy, theo other one is... Heavy. One has no contours, the othe rone has... No contours. One has an awkward shape with poor upper fret access, the other has an awkward shape with poor upper fret access...

Ramo should own at least one of each.

Lmao i think you might convince him on the Les Paul due to his Iced Earth, Metallica and Testament connections before you convince him on a Tele
