But low end cant sound good...............

Careful Smitty.
The log rhythm may decide to retitle you

Ambassidor of bad puns.

I can’t take credit for it. Robert Herndon actually thought of it first.

See the edit to my post.

I suppose I can be held responsible for using it, though!

Anything with steel strings and a magnetic pickup can sound interesting or even good.

Epis, Squiers, these are guitars meant to be as good as possible with cheaper labor and parts... They are not trash. They are actually meant to sound good, and people regretably forget this too often.

There's no magic here: plug a budget guitar into that rig and you'll probabky sound good. Plug a better guitar and you'll probably sound and feel better. You can rock either way.

Did that say SQUIRE! bet those are GENERIC symbols and the bass probably was made in Indonesia! ugh how low end -- I am assuming the audince was being polite by not walking out ......

Did you see the drummers shirt? I read an article where he states he bought it second hand from a laundromat for 1.50 when they where selling off clothes people never came back to claim

horrible percussion ----- just horrible

and WTF --- this guy is doing playing this jazz fusion stuff through a MARSHALL---- seriously YOU CANT USE THOSE FOR ANYTHING OTHER THAN METAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!

what the HELL is going on in this video its like armageddon

Now, seriously, guys: ain't that an AWESOME strat tone?? I am not into jazz fusion, but love Rypdal's playing.

This is low end and low dollar--- and it sounds AWESOME.
Mahogany neck through Peavey GRIND bass......won in an open auction for 132.00 lol
Grind.jpg

BUWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAAAAAAAAA

When I have as many Peaveys as you do Fenders............wait--- how many Do YOU have again???

Honestly these sell for 499.00 new--- this was a floor model (with some issues) --- bunged up lower strap button and a "twisted neck" said the paperwork....so I threw a low ball bid TOTALLY expecting the price to exceed my meager offering----- it didn't.....I was TRULY shocked when I had a "pay now" message 2 days later.....
I dont play with a strap--- several of my guitars dont even HAVE strap buttons....I play seated....(lazy) so the button was not an issue-- the neck was a gamble but it seems to set up great ---plays smooth and fine and the tone is awesome--- the low E is a smidge "in" from the top and the high E is a smidge close to the edge--- a nut change could remedy this--- but it really isnt an issue for me ---so why bother

There are many good low cost guitars, but that Epi is not one...

You'd need to spend money on tuners, bridge, fretwork, other and the price would double very quickly. You may or may not like the pickup sounds; most people wouldn't is my guess (informed from half a dozen videos I've read of these).

Yes, it'll sound good for a while when played by a good player on a good amp.

Basically, it's a piece of shite.

For $300, here is a low cost Fender American strat slayer: Cort G260

[버즈비] [2016 콜트 뉴 G시리즈!!] Cort 일렉기타 G260 Alder

Great nut, great tuners, great bridge, great neck, great frets, decent pickups, brilliantly put together. Spending $500 or more on that Epi could never bring it to the level of this $300 Cort.

Really?
Ive owned several that where quite good,
And this is on list of top 5 never get rid of all time keepers

THESE
http://www.musiciansfriend.com/guit...1604113-sku^H77433000001000@ADL4MF-adType^PLA

are 120.00 and under ---- 95. actually for the black there--- AWESOME little guitars....play and sound excellent--- if you get a good one--- I have owned a couple and know folks that own them now---and I am certain they are the same guitar--- probably the same just different route programs on the CNC machine --- just slap a pickguard and little pups on the one ----big P90's on the other

it is possible to get a good guitar for cheap--- and it is possible for a cheap guitar to be good---

is EVERYONE a stellar out of the box WINNER--- nope--- but as we have seen niether is a1500.00 to 5,000.00 Gibson .........Id damn sure rather risk 95.00 to find a keeper than 5k.........but that just me

Dammit Adrian, I keep trying to find bass and bass amp subject matter in this thread. Having flown to Kansas City for vacation, I ventured on a walk up to a pawn shop about a mile up the street from our hotel. The best thing they have there other than tools is an Eden WT800 and a 4x10 Eden Bass cab. Sadly for me the bass cab is priced at $720 instead of a more friendly price like $300. I can just see me trying to bring that cab home on the plane. I also looked on ebay to find one selling for about $1200-$1300. 1000 watt 8 ohm cab

PS. I don't think post 32 was quite "Cheap" enough. Knock off $100 and Adrian is king of Ferenghi
