This is tough.
on the one hand you have @Clockworkmike with a confirmed fight record of 4-1. A seasoned scrapper for sure, ready to ball up his hands and throw down at the drop of a hat.
on the other you have @Sapient who will keep a cool head and talk my a$$ out of a bad situation ... and also manage to get the girls number to boot!!

Now this comes down to my personality.
Is this barroom situation happening when I was younger, or is it happening now .......
When I was younger, I was a hot headed 235lb north jersey italian gym rat who always dared somebody to knock the big go screw yourself chip off his shoulder. @Clockworkmike would be that guy's wingman for sure, because .....

The older me (now) would still think he is that younger guy. Sort of like how a small dog thinks he's much bigger than he is. The voice of reason would keep me out of the hospital or at least keep me from smelling like a ben-gay factory the next day. That's where @Sapient would come in handy.

But, then I start overthinking it, as I tend to do ....
What if I have it wrong and the reverse were true for each situation above ....

I'd like to hear from @Clockworkmike and @Sapient .... how would you handle the situation with a never backdown attitude like I have.

Ok that seals it.

While clocky's awareness, ball comment ALMOST settled it, due to his quick thinking, situational awareness, resourcefulness and intent, for maximum entertainment I'm gonna roll the dice here and go with the bottom left.

Basically I call it the "WTF" factor. While I believe it would be quite dangerous for Gears and Cueball to underestimate Clockwork, I feel if diplomacy fails, Sapient would have a better chance fending off a battle by reverting into his pure "crazy" mode, throwing the competition off balance with chances of a bitten-off finger, nose (or whatever) into the mix. That's a definite deterrent.

I think I saw a movie once where acting "off the hook insane/psycho" can be a solid battle plan. Possibly for Sapient in particular from what I've seen here on TTR, I don't believe it's all just "acting."

I mean it's just the movies or whatever, but for pure fun factor ?

I vote Sapient.

But I'd dearly love to go out drankin' with either or both of you.

Diplomacy be damned!!
@Clockworkmike went total lights out kill or be killed with improvised weaponry. He has that "Put 'em down permanent" mentality worthy of being a character on an episode of Cobra Kai.

After the fight we'd be in jail where I would be charged with accessory to manslaughter. Mike's defense? "How was I supposed to know a cue ball to the temple would kill him?"

@Sapient went a different angle with playing the psychological game, heavy on the psycho! If I thought WTF?!?!? Those poor biker bastards would think the same. It would either make them think twice or incite them even more. Although if he were to play it up by slowly swaying side to side with his head cocked to the side, that would be unnerving ... and to be honest, I might pee myself a little while thinking to myself, "why would you bring that mask to a bar in the first place??"

I will need time to think this through.
Which complete psychopath would I want to get into a bar fight with.
a) homicidal lunatic
b) psycho serial killer

either way, I dont feel safe anymore now that Gears and Cueball are not there as witnesses!

Here's a possible "tell". The hose on Sapient's gas mask contraption isn't even connected!

Why is this significant? It suggests an indifference to the risk of death.

This makes him doubly more dangerous to the likes of Gears and Cueball.

We may need to start concerning ourselves with the safety of Gears and Cueball. These poor, unsuspecting fools have no idea what they are getting themselves into!

I picked Sapient because I would be useless in a fight. So if he can gas mask scare em till I run away and he follows, sold!

I began this experience leaning toward Mike...mostly because I like his Gibson Explorer and I think that makes for an intimidating presentation.

Gotta give the man points for an Explorer, am I right?

But, the mysterious fear factor presented by Sapient is compelling.

I have one hour to make up my mind.

After much thought.
I decided to vote for Mike because he needs somebody to look after him before he monkey stomps someone into oblivion

He obviously has rage issues
Rage issues? Perhaps, but the larger questions are all about arm strength and swimming ability iffen you and your buddy suddenly get tossed into a lake by Gears and Cueball. I'm not a great swimmer. Sapient is.

So. You're basically saying that you fully trust it that Mike would sacrifice a precious guitar of his to save you? I admire the faith you have!

Well, I wouldn't expect him to take a swing with his Explorer because, hey, it is still a Gibson. Breaks happen.

But, if he had a Telecaster? Yeah, I'd expect him to wind that sucker up like a Louisville Slugger...to both headlights! To quote Carrie Underwood.

I declare member @Sapient the winning bro.
Seven votes to Four.

Good job Bros. Mike you made this a very tough decision, but I felt your history worked against you just a little bit.
I prefer that honestly lol hell, I voted for @Sapient if you look. Older and wiser these days, no real winner in a fight in the long run anyways

Somehow I see Mike having that Bobby Boucher strength.
All you have to do is have him imagine Gears singing, Maiden sucks! they really really suck!
Then watch him go!!

If you didn’t watch The Waterboy, that reference is lost.
