Blues and the Right Amp

I make a very good blues noise through a Boss Katana, and I know that’s not the right amp by anybody’s yardstick.
neither is a Vox Tonelab into an ART SLA-1 and out through a trio of Eminence Alpha's, but it was fine by thems that paid me to help 'em sound their best.

A late 60's Pro Reverb was the second nicest sounding amp that I've owned. The first and thrid are, respectively, the Super and Deluxe that are in the picture I posted a page back. I sold it, because I'm stupid.

There was a time when I would use both the Super and Deluxe...the Super for comping and the Deluxe for talking nasty...until during a sound check, the tech asked me to try it the other way around, crank the Super and comp with the Deluxe. Smart fellow. Clearly knew his fenders.

The growl of a Super has some very unique qualities, and when it gets angry and lets its roar out...it's an experience.

A couple pieces of plex made stage volume manageable.

Not bad for $25.00
I have one of those too. Actually had two but I gave one to an old friend as a Christmas gift coupla years ago.
Doesn't sound fully tweedish to me, but it's a helluva good blues amp.
The friend I gave one to has a pair of brownface Deluxes. He said that for certain guitars he likes the Silvertone better.
