Black pick guard for THUNDERBIRD?????

It wasnt meant to be this weekend -- I was "sleeping on it" for a week and he had to work so -- the guy was in Stuart---he was gracious enough to make the drive with his lovely wife and meet me at the worksite yesterday ------

I mean I COULDN'T turn down an offer like that!!! --- and now -- I have the smoothest bird ive ever played (though I have only played a few) to be fair--

My Bird always served me well, but those banjo tuners are burdensome. Also the neck feels so long that I'm always fretin 2/3 frets high w/o looking! The 64' I played for years yielded so much $ it was silly not to sell it. FB VII in Cardinal red. But this one gets the business done …. after you replace the 11K ohms pickups that never came in a firebird, with real ones! And I'll be the first to say a Firebird is an acquired taste.

Firebirds are definitely an acquired taste, and it's a taste I like a lot. My two 'birds get as much play time as anything else. I'll be the dissenter here as well and say that I personally love the modern Firebird pickups. They are monstrous for playing heavy music and cut through any mix. I love how they sound clean too, but they really excel with a ton of gain.

I have both of these on my Firebird V

And just the truss rod cover on the Firebird I

Maybe they can do the same for a Thunderbird?

My '18 V is old school proper wired like that too. It's the only Gibson I have with stock electronics.

When did they start using plastic output jacks?
That looks like a jack for an amp circuit board with the pin connectors.o_O

That's weird. I own 2016, 2017, 2019 and 2020 Gibsons and none have that - they all have an old-school Switchcraft jack. Must have been a unique to 2018 thing? Either way, nothing wrong with them, no reason to replace unless it fails, just like any other jack.

its CHina..........slowly creeping in .....part by part..............

True of everything unfortunately. When is the last time a guitar potentiometer was manufactured in the US (I know Allen Bradley still makes pots here but not aware of any maker using them)? The 1980's probably? Early '90's at best I'd think.

I went by one RIGHT ON I-4 in Lakeland a few weeks ago to measure the parking lot for seal coating and restriping--- (I could smell it) -- asked the guys what they did
"Indoor grow room"

I also bid the parking lot for a HUGE indoor grow and production facility in Orlando last year--

they are popping up like weeds .....oh .....uhm...........................

leave me alone Im playing my FIREBIRD!!!!! buwahahahahahahahahahahahaha

O>K. so-- now----
really--- I need a GOLD Thunderbird decal--

I have some black PG material "out for delivery" --
Im trying to make the "TWINS" look more "twinish" by putting a black guard on the T-bird-- but it NEEDS the gold logo to be complete------

any sources??? Dont think waterslide will work/stick---
if it was 20 years ago Id take it to the shop and SCREEEN PRINT it on --- but I dont have my shop no more--

sucks to know HOW to do it but not BE ABLE to do it
