Bias - need more help

Ray, please be careful! You do not want to get hung up on any high voltage in an amp, it will not let you go! 120V AC is just a little zap and I have never seen anyone hung up on that, but higher voltages both AC and DC will end you...

Yes, but look what I found on the Eurotubes site

Our probes measure directly in DC Milliamps so you will need to set your multimeter to the DCA mode (DC Amps, NOT VOLTS!) and if the meter is not auto sensing then select the 200mA scale
Yes, this is correct. Elaborate on those readings you are seeing, please.

Ceriatone states you should read in mV when connecting to the resisters. I get the right reading that way. When I checked via probe on mV, I get "OL" (or something like that) on the screen. I did not try to test in mA with the probe

Yes, switch the meter to the mA mode and you should get very similar numbers compared to measuring around those 1 ohm bias resistors.

Those tube socket bias adapters like the one you have, also have a 1 ohm resistor inside the adaptor that is used for the same purpose.

I have thought about it. Maybe I will get one and keep my old gear until I decide if it is for me. Is that what you are using?

I am. I have a Helix right now. I also had a Kemper, but it's effects are very limited. If I had nothing right now I'd buy an AXE-FX III. I may buy one anyway and see if I like it
better than the Helix. The cool thing about the Kemper was the fact the all the amps out there for it are actual real amps that people modeled through the unit. So if there
is a Dumble model a real Dumble was hooked up to the Kemper and modeled! I guess I could have run pedals through the Kemper, but it was just too much for me at that time.

The Helix has a massive amount of patches made with damn near every amp I'm interested in modeled. However I'm still not sure it's the right fit for me...
I really want to try an AXE-FX III, but the money is not in hand for me right now. I think they are going for around $2600???
