The SG is of course one of the best playing, best sounding guitars ever produced.Only have 2, a 79 The Paul and an 81 LPC. Both great guitars.

As far as sound quality, it's going to be 50s era guitars that take the cake.
As far as play ability, it's going to be the 60s profile neck.
The Norlin guitars pale in comparison, but also much much less money.
So it has a lot to do with your economic stimulus check....
Personally
the 59 reissue, but 6 grand is a bit of cash. It's a lot to pay for a pre-rusted beat up new guitar.
