Ratt and Def Leppard remain tied at nine votes. I'm letting that poll remain for another day, then if still tied, I have a solution.

Anyway the show must go on... This thread is about Cinderella VS Scorpions
To me, I have to admit Cinderella music still is sticky in my head. I like that it's so blues-based. Me against the world themes.
Never really liked the Scorps much personally. My best memory of the Scorpions in the 80's was when this dude named Joey used to come pick up my older sister for dates, he was usually blasting The Scorpions outta his truck. To me the scorpions always seemed a little too much like "gettin' horny in the backseat" music. But really, isn't that the very foundation of rock 'n roll after all? The Scorpions just badassed it up a LOT.

I do prefer Keifer to Klaus, vox wise - I felt Klaus was always a bit too nasal. It's a hard call but I think I gotta give the guitar edge to the Scorpions

It's kind of a battle between a quick riser, vs a band that paid major dues and for a long time and positioned for success when hard rock came to the fore.

Here we have a well-known Cinderella hit

And, a hit by the Scorps

Honestly, not sure how I'm gonna lean on this one

With all love and respect for the bluesy rock roots of Cinderella? This HAS to go to the Scorpions. They actually have 3 different eras and sounds, so limitless material

When Cinderella first came out, I thought it was a totally gutsy move for an all male rock/metal-ish band to call themselves, "Cinderella."

They do have some kickin' sounds, that's for sure. My vote for the Scorpions is not meant as a slight to Cinderella.

Agree with you there, and their look did not in any way match their sound. They were/are a great band, but they ended up in an unwinnable contest against an all-time great.

Fellas I'm calling Def Leppard vs Ratt in favour of Def Leppard by one, kind of a sudden death overtime,
So basically we have our final four. Scorps VS DIO, Crue VS Def Leppard. I don't have a problem with that actually.

Seems all is right in the world.

I had an exhausting day in the shop and want to take care of m'lady, so no tourney ladder tonite, sorry.
We shall continue the battle of the bands, hair edition on Monday.

But if you have not added your two contenders in best band of the 1968-1980 battle of the bands thread,
go do it now. we need 32 bands listed, and you can nominate any one already listed.

Totally understand. These games you bring to the forum are a great camaraderie builder.

Absolutely, take care of Mrs. TVvoodoo and have a nice Valentine's Day.
