Def Leppard edges out Y&T 11 votes to 8 in the TTR Battle of the Bands Round #4, 80's hair rock edition.
Look at these dudes, all dressed-up in fancy tailored suits now. So metal! But the tribe has spoken.
Next up, we have Blackie v.s. Kevin. I'm not sure about you but comes to a street fight? My moneys on WASP!
I mean the costumes seemed like frickin' weaponry. I was never really into them, but my little brother really
dug them, and I believe they were quite formative in his musical development. They obviously had some blistering riffs,
and major doses of "rock-shock" controversy which even overshadowed Motley Crue's devilish antics at the time
These psychopaths take on another group that also utilized the psycho theme to good effect... Quiet Riot.
I had the 1983 Metal Health album, (didn't everyone?), but didn't really know much of quite a deep
history of the band, initially started by widely acclaimed rock guitar god Randy Rhoads. back in the early 70's, but he quit
after a years of getting nowhere, and then got snapped up by ozzy. But boy, to follow that group early on?
That would have been a real treat. Anyway, Dubrow rebirthed a dead group, with new peeps, including Rudy Sarzo.
Cum on Feel the Noise broke huge in '83 radio wise but it was deeper cuts that I dug, the Slick Black Cadillac number,
and I was in a crap band that did Metal Health maybe a hundred times in rehearsal but we never had even one gig LOL
- we were playing mostly for fun anyway.
So, lets rehash some history, share some videos and some thought, Bang your Heads then Vote Like a Beast
in Battle of the Bands Round #5!
