Look at these dudes, all dressed-up in fancy tailored suits now. So metal! But the tribe has spoken.

Next up, we have Blackie v.s. Kevin. I'm not sure about you but comes to a street fight? My moneys on WASP!
I mean the costumes seemed like frickin' weaponry. I was never really into them, but my little brother really
dug them, and I believe they were quite formative in his musical development. They obviously had some blistering riffs,
and major doses of "rock-shock" controversy which even overshadowed Motley Crue's devilish antics at the time

These psychopaths take on another group that also utilized the psycho theme to good effect... Quiet Riot.

I had the 1983 Metal Health album, (didn't everyone?), but didn't really know much of quite a deep
history of the band, initially started by widely acclaimed rock guitar god Randy Rhoads. back in the early 70's, but he quit
after a years of getting nowhere, and then got snapped up by ozzy. But boy, to follow that group early on?
That would have been a real treat. Anyway, Dubrow rebirthed a dead group, with new peeps, including Rudy Sarzo.
Cum on Feel the Noise broke huge in '83 radio wise but it was deeper cuts that I dug, the Slick Black Cadillac number,
and I was in a crap band that did Metal Health maybe a hundred times in rehearsal but we never had even one gig LOL
- we were playing mostly for fun anyway.

So, lets rehash some history, share some videos and some thought, Bang your Heads then Vote Like a Beast

I think I'm gonna have to go with Quiet Riot on this one. When it comes to album sales, they were pretty comparable. WASP sold 12 million and Quiet Riot sold 15 million, so there's not a huge difference there.

I don't really have a strong opinion, one way or the other.

Still, I give the edge to Riot.

This one ain't even close for me. WASP by a mile.

QR is immedate cause for changing the station to me.
Completely agree. QR is not even in the same league as WASP. WASP's first album is one of the best to EVER come out in the metal world. Chris Holmes's tasteful soloing and AWESOME "chainsaw" tone is always remarkable. "Wild Child", "Hellion", B.A.D., "Sleeping in the Fire", "The Flame", "Widow Maker", "Forever Free", etc., etc., WASP cranks for miles and miles.

Chris even gave us classic bonus footage in the pool. Lol.
Ummm ...I voted WASP, all. :celebrate:

Ok, now we got a legitimate harder edged metal vs harder edged metal act!

First, you have Quiet Riot, who we all know was the birthplace of Randy Rhoads but let's be honest: probably NO ONE listened to them until Metal Health or heard Randy until Blizzard of Ozz lol. They became the very first band to have a #1 album, cementing metal as a legitimate genre! While they were most known for the Slade covers ( quite a few!) , Bang Your Head (Metal Health) is STILL a wicked song.

But in the flip side we have WASP: one of the original nightmares for the PMRC alongside early contestants, Twisted Sister. These days, Blackie Lawless is a joke with his backing tracks, BUT! During their glory days from their self titled debut upto The Crimson Idol; they were awesome. I will die on this hill and say that Chris Holmes STILL has one of the baddest damned guitar tones there ever was and his pool interview during The Decline of Western Civilization Part 2 is the epitome of the debauched rocker: tragic and yet hilarious.

My vote? WASP!!!!!

Tell me this doesn't make you wanna go punch something!

And I got to see see Quiet Riot with their original lineup back in 1999 during the Rock Never Stops Tour with Slaughter, Night Ranger and Ted Nugent near my hometown for $20. I was 16 and violating my juvenile probation LMAO this was the album they toured and I love this song still today
