Battle of the Bands 1968-1980

You may each now add ONE nomination "x" as we go through in turn. any band earning three nominations makes the 16 band final tourney ladder.

My nomination "X" goes to The Stones for just pretty much defining what a rock star lifestyle should be, along with Keith Moon, and Syd B of course.

So, two clarifying questions:

1. Are we only allowed to endorse (nominate with an "X") a band that we have not previously endorsed?

2. Since you entered and then endorsed a band (the Rolling Stones), are we permitted to endorse a band that we previously entered into the contest?

Great question @smitty_p - I guess I have to allow a double nomination for greatest band as I just did it
though it was more me trying to think "Overall Large Scale" to add some credibility to this contest for best 1970's band.
I might have much rather dropped it on a more personal choice, though I do own some great stones records, myself.
Perhaps they won't make the top 16 as per TTR's wishes but I wanted to make sure they a least had a shot.
So yes, if you feel strongly enough about your particular group as the greatest 70's band of all time, 2 even three votes
should be allowed, but you best be able to argue it later during the actual voting!

vote with your heart, or with your head, either way, it's a vote!

Well, for this round, I will take your original instructions and only do one endorsement. I also assume we cannot endorse a band again that we've already endorsed?

I'm not real sure on the second or third endorsment of the same band but I understand some might feel very strongly
in favour of one. @smitty_p - added floyd

I guess I entertain illusions of this being any kind of definitive contest LOL!
It's really just for fun, to spur discussion of good music generally and to try to help keep
this community lively and busy.

We sometimes just run out of things to talk about

If I think of the greatest 70’s band it is all about Led Zepplin sold out the Great Western Forum 7 nights in a row and dominated every radio station around the world. Just saying , more substance musically they are “gods” like Priest.
Stones ?
