BASSically annoyed.

Check out this guys chops, adjustments and TONE. I know, I know, Robert. The Fenders are nothing "special"

I don't mean it like that. My point is that I have played on $250.00/hour studio recordings with a $60.00 Ibanz bass, then played a vintage 1960's Fender once owned by James Jamerson and they sounded basically the same.

Preference is another thing. If the P or J is more comfortable, or the Thunderbird style, then that's the right bass for you. But for those who seem to regard - let's say a 1959 Gibson Les Paul as the 'Holy Grail' just because of it's vintage and the hype surrounding it, I think that's a waste of time and effort.

There are great P & J basses. Are all of them great??? No....

Nothing wrong wit those highly valuable relics, nothing at all, but I have played a few of them and they were always lacking....something...that was always overlooked because of it's vintage.
