Back on the horse

How you gonna save it? Suggest masking off some stars or polka dots or racing stripes then red over the whole thing maybe? or burst over in black?
Even one of your killer straps :love:couldn't save this...
Heat gun and putty knife.
Thought about just doing the translucent red over the whole thing at this point, but I now think it's time to pull the plug and change directions.

you could do the japanese sunrise thing... mask that off and spray more clear red. Never saw that in a sparkle before.

I was thinking, it's a Hondo anyway, which goes back to Japa roots. I believe it's one of the main dialects of the Japanese language.

please excuse the Jobber photoshop job.... that was a quicky meant to get you before you did anything foolish LOL

Here's how i would do this... you take some measurements and a sample of the flag to a sign shop that does vinyl cutting.
cost you about $25-30 to get a vinyl stencil made with all the lines cut - but NOT weeded out.
You give that gu'tar a bit of a rough up... with 800 grit. apply the vinyl, using a squeegee to make sure the edges are all down tigh.
Then pull off the bits where you want red paint.

Paint that sucker with the trans red. pull the remaining vinyl very carefully, use a blow dryer to soften the glue a bit. clearcoat.

I used cut vinyl to make this thing a number of years ago. It's a great alternative to masking tape for complex designs

I've done similar things using stencils, with the cigarbox guitars that I make.

It's done. I hit the easy button.
Just slapped that sucker together. These were junk anyway.
I've wasted enough time and effort on something that I'll be lucky to get $150 for.
Coming soon to a Cragslist near you...:pound-hand:

I still hate it... Need's a home.
Killing it with fire seems way too extreme, :flame:but it sure would be fun.
