Announcing... RiffMasters!

OK team, I think I might have a Modern Problem! LOL! like many of you I have plenty of modern problems. One of mine is, I started this song not that long ago, before AI was much of thing, suddenly now it's doing way more than I ever thought it could. Worst of it is, it can already write and assemble a far better AI trashing song as well :ROFLMAO:

When The AI Comes

As today's Modern Tech reaches a pinnacle
I can't help but feel a little cynical
When there's no more resistance to The chips and transistors
Being forced on our lives today
What might be the price we'll pay?

Can I turn off my brain when the AI comes
Will it make us seem smarter, or extra dumb
When the AI comes, when the AI comes
From the cradle to the grave
We'll be under it's thumb
Livin' our bright new tomorrow
When the AI comes
All Hail ComputerKind
When the AI comes

Will it analyze if this baby should live?
Oh the Joy we'll feel if it's affirmative!
Will it quickly surpass
The Human underclass
As we bow to the Masters of the slaves
Will that be the price we pay?
Chorus
I'll tell my grandkids about a thing called work
If I can get them to unplug long enough to smirk
They'll be so preoccupied,
In their digital divide,
Fantasizing about reality
How long 'til eternity?
Chorus

For some reason I feel happy to stick harmonica, and the ol' "hand jive" riddim in a song about computers

For some reason I was waiting for Bob Dylan to join in at some point.
It reminds me of The Times they are A-Changin’

Well done! Very well done!

Thank you for the listens my bros- I was thinking last night the next RiffMasters might be AI songs only. My plan to get these super computers beating down each other instead of human artists. :ROFLMAO:

Also, @ibmorjamn your feedback monster was crazy amazing! Never in my wildest dreams would I have thought I could listen to extended sonic chaos like that, yet feel like it ended way too soon.
(y)

Heard something new and interesting around every corner... felt like being in a musical funhouse!

Thanks.
I don’t know what style you normally play while not in competition but your song sounded very natural and the lyrics fit the song melody which by the way was probably the glue to hold it all together.

Thanks.

it's pretty plain to hear the rhythm sure as hell ain't holding it together. LOL!

Yes, Jam, I get how you hear that "natural" vibe. You nailed it. Lots of songs I have in my pocket are a little too much like this one.
I would categorize myself as a bit of a folky at heart, but I enjoy all kinds of music for listening. Heavier rock, jazz, power pop, trip-hop, even country.

You know, in regards to rhythm, Aerosmith, the Stones, G 'n R, those kinds of bands seem to have that "thing" where the songs are kind of loose like they could derail at any moment, but they still hold it together and have wonderful kind of swing to them. I WISH i could emulate that, but the fact is I just don't seem to have that "music talent" gene, and that's probably more an "ensemble" thing. Frankly, like too many of us here, I don't have a whole lot of time in my life to play or make music. Even if I could, not sure I would even enjoy it as my "career" really, except I imagine a lot of super cool people, and probably lots of peckerheads too. Just like anything.

This forum event really pushed the time envelope for me, and others too I'm sure - it was a commitment, and I am grateful for all of you, that we could share this experience.

While I'm sad to see it nearing a close, I'm also glad this marathon is almost done. I do believe I've practically cut in half the time needed to lay stuff down via this exercise,
learned a few new tricks, so those are some great takeaways.

The irony is, someday AI might even be able to make even MY songs quite a bit more listenable. I'm half-serious about the AI music "adventure" thing..It's a helluva lot easier than six or seven hours at the DAW, deep into the wee hours, if not near as rewarding or personal). I know there are gonna be.naysayers out there, but I'd be looking at it as simply a tool for our own general amusement, certainly not in any way calling it "authentic." There's probably at least some of art & craft in it, those interested could learn more on how it works, what it can or can't do. Might be really fun for the budding lyricists.among us. And if you happen to be shy about your music skills, vocals, or don't have the gear/tech to put stuff down, AI music creation pushes past all that, it's inclusive. Plus we'd all be working with the very same "gear" (as much as that matters), so a level playing field for sure.

But for those who feel the need to pick up instruments, make all the noises to express themselves, and the whole put-together process, probably not for them.
Not looking to replace our own musicality...AI is not going to stop me from still trying to put together chord progressions, or hum melodies in my spare time.

I agree, long challenge. I will miss it after it ends but will enjoy the free time. I spend countless hours behind the DAW and so much of is not great.

However, I learned a lot with this contest about production and recording. Even though I barely scratched the surface. I need to step up my game.

As I’m typing “AI” is reading my mind and finishing my sentence. lmao
But it will never replace creativity , passion of creating will always be a driving force.

Fantastic!!! I kinda wanna learn that one! Well done sir!

please play the solo with a long stemmed rose in your teeth
IIRC, the long stemmed rose in the teeth routine is mainly a tango thing ... that would be Argentina, not Spain or Mexico.
Bending the rules is one thing, conflating different musical styles is quite another, LOL.
EDIT: (i hope you folks know i'm just having a bit of fun, not being critical)

Here's my submission: The Warning for Latin Mice

Spoken in the Bridge:

Muchos dicen que las latinas son las más hermosas del mundo
La plata y el oro son riqueza en todos los continentes
Estas mujeres te encuentran como un pirata encuentra un cofre del tesoro
Ellas so gatos, tú eres un ratón, el qu eso en la trampa no es gratis

Many say Latinas are the most beautiful in the world
Silver and gold are wealth on every continent
These women find you like a pirate finds a treasure chest
They are cats, you are a mouse, the cheese in the trap is not free
