Announcing... RiffMasters!

Thank you! I used an Electro Harmonix Mel9 pedal to try and emulate the sound of a flute around the 50 second mark, and based that short riff on the melody from "Bad Co.", then segued into some descending notes.
I’ve been SOooooo wanting to grab one of those Mel9 pedals (and one or two others of the series) for years! Your use of it sounds pretty darned good sir!

I'd like to try the Key9. The Mel9 has a few decent settings but I hardly ever use it to be honest. The pedals that I really lean on are reverb, delay, and mild overdrive. I absolutely love reverb to an unhealthy degree. I've got five reverb pedals and I would easily buy many more except that I have to put a stop on my pedal obsession.

Its not an obsession if you need it.

ok, that made no sense but it sounds convincing if you say it enough times
I relapsed in March when JHS had a fire sale on their Overdrive Preamp for $69. I figured I couldn't go wrong at that price and it wound up being a pleasant surprise. It's based on an early DOD 250 and has a much smoother sound than I would have expected.

Here I go choosing another challenge that showcases my terrible rhythm playing, but it was sure fun for ONE point!

basic cheap off brand strat, one pass with the phaser set on phun, another clean riddim, compressed.
added cheap DJ effects on my yamaha keyboard only to distract from the guitar. stick to the end, it falls apart gloriously as I search beyond two chords and fail so very hard LOL!

I use reaper, but I'd sound the same with anything, probably.

You win 14 points!

@frostyjr2 can walk away held head high for a brilliant fight and add seven more to her total.

Brand new Side Hustle coming tomorrow. Almost everyone will hate me even more than than you already do, including myself.

No losers here. E’s take was brilliant and highlights what you can do when you know what you’re doing. Backing tracks often dictate what you play but a skilled player can still morph that track into a whole new place.

Ha ha, yeah!!! When I first saw this thing I had to get it. Probably used it once though. Mint condition, still in the box. I'm sure eventually I'll need it for something.
