Announcing... RiffMasters!

Here we go.

I didn't start riding 'til the 80s. I don't even remember what I had, if anything, in the 70s.
It wasn’t organized in the early 70’s, and the first place I ever seen it as a thing is at the beginning of the movie
On Any Sunday,
so none of the BMX giants were not around yet.

Mitch, I moved this conversation.

Here's my "Wild Wild West" submission
• Takamine acoustic
• Hohner Harmonica
• Roland Keyboard into Cubase and some orchestral string & flute samples
4 points participation, 1 for the edit, 1 for the guest singers = 6

I was waiting for the Apache to invade the town! So awesome!! No holds barred, flutes, strings, harp, war drums ... amazing!!

RiffMasters action is heating up bigly with as we close in on one week remaining in Round Six. Nicely crafted submissions well worth the wait!

@Ku² dumps a modernized lo-fi infused (and rather frenetic) Jenny on us for his His Main Event 80's #1 cover. Really interesting and engaging version with dramatic dynamics baked in... you just don't know what's coming around the corner in every measure. Fun hip-hop/house type elements infused keep it fresh and definitely quite danceable in a bloody-nosed punk mosh pit sort of way I suppose. gonna vote high, my bet.

Then the mysterious @Randy Van Malmsteen returns with an epic Wild Wild West theme incorporating a large amount of instrumentation and even indigenous pow-wow singing / drumming. It's all melded beautifully and a super creative take... but I wonder why all the native singing as we ride through town? This has gotta be the most well-developed Indian encampment I've ever seen!
I also don't know what nobody else has thought of harmonica yet (myself inclded) it's such a natural choice ... absolutely goes together with the footage like peas and carrots.

Wonderful flute melody too... I especially love that little pitch bend at the end of those lines. Nice touch! Really adds to the effect.

Wow Fellas! Kicking musical ass and taking names!

Lol, I was actually thinking about dropping some Native American Flute in there considering I've been playing for decades and own about 7 of 'em. I actually have an entire original album of Native Flute/Drone Flute music entitled The Fire Within. I'd always carry around a Pignose, mic stand, loop pedal, hand drums and Flutes and bust them out when random drum circles would break out.
When I lived in Long Beach, (NY), I would bring e'rything down to the beach and play. Always had ppl stopping and enjoying, but my favorite visitor one time was a Dragonfly that landed on my mic stand and stayed the entire time I played, just watching me. Afterwards, I broke everything down and was going to go up to the local Starbucks to play an open mic they had there, the Dragonfly stayed on my mic stand from the beach, all the way there. When I put the mic stand down, it flew away. I took that as a sign and left. Dragonflies always follow me, land on me and seem to find me in the middle of nowhere. I play harmonica as well, but don't have the right key.

Also join me to congratulate @Randy Van Malmsteen scaling up from RiffMasters "Sideman" now reaching "Rocker" status, with 52 pts and leapfrogging over @Aynirar27 in the process.

I don't recall what he claimed for 80's number one hit, but I imagine with all his time served in cover bands he's probably got something waiting to spring out of his pocket

I-ma guess he gonna grind out Addicted to Love or somesuch

Congrats RandyVanMalmsteen! Your name is deserving of the title Rocker

Maybe be a bit more gentle next time though…

With all the entries coming in fast and furious, and the penthouse keys exchanging hands so much, an update on where we stand so far is in order.

Again, if anything is missing in my RIFFMASTERS matrix, please send all "donations" to LiveeviL c/o TTR, That's Liveevil (2 Es). It's a semordnilap. (HELL YEAH I LOOKED THAT UP!! I AINT THAT SMART!)

If the above is correct, then we find @Ku² and @TVvoodoo as "roommates" or domestic partners or whatever they want to be called. Just seems TVvoodoo is the one that is mainly concerned with how clean the kitchen is ... if ya get my drift.
@LiveeviL2000 is constantly being kicked out before he can even raid the fridge and holds on to a fragile 3rd place as @Aynirar27 (or whatever the hell his name is) positions himself within striking distance of the top spot as we hit the midway point of RIFFMASTERS.
@Randy Van Malmsteen is right behind @Aynirar27 and has been clawing his way up the rankings very steadily.
New comers @frostyjr2 and @Mouse have exploded on the scene with masterful entries and unless things change drastically, they are set to duel each other in round 7, reserve your seats for that one folks! THAT should be interesting!!!
We are getting close to round 6 coming to a close and going to a vote.
We are now in the second half of this RIFFMASTERS Challenge where the entries are AWESOME and the points dont matter!
I can't wait to see whats next!!

Also welcoming @Aynirar27 to "Rocker" status!
What an absolute tear he's been been on!
Should he be tested for performance enhancing drugs?

May have forgotten a submission... or maybe more! Fill me in if I did.

Hot damn!! All You Need Is Rock And Roll!!

To be honest I have been taking a type of “enhancement” pill lately, but that’s only to keep me from rolling out of bed at night.
Know what I’m sayin! :H5:

Anyways, I have a contest question. I think I figured out why the movie clip sfx weren’t working in my ghostbusters cover, is it cool to edit the song post submission but pre vote??
If not, no biggie at all. I’ll just wait until next week to do it
