Announcing... RiffMasters!

@LiveeviL2000 gets his Wild West on with what I'd say is the most authentically Morricone-ish "experimental" music bed so far... and also the one most skillfully placed and paced to the onscreen action so far. Unique tones, that guitar gallop and changing moods really set the tone for drama. The mournful little intro...then into the purposeful gallop with an ice pick hammering away at our eardrums... very unsettling.

Soon enough we get some relief with a "darkening" as we enter town, then it slowy ramps up into the minor key bits connected to the gun battle for that pace change... then BAM!! Full on back into the main theme after the gun battle... then, he gets to finish with an anticlimactic soft intro repeated for the outtro ...really nicely done. Surely I'm not the first to describe Liveevil as anti-climactic? He's so good at it!

Best so far pacing-wise, and that piercing tone sure kind gets a fella set up on the edge of his seat don't it?
I did not hear any special sound effects (correct me if I'm wrong) so 4 for the bed, one for the edit = 5 pts, and outright ownership of the RiffMasters Penthouse (for the time being).

Special Notice...

Boss Lady informs me I will be traveling the weekend of the 20th coming up to attend convocation ceremonies for my genius son (Computer Engineering). I know some of you are wondering how any progeny with superior IQ could msnage to spring from the loins of a fellow such as I, all I can say is nature is a wondrous beast.

Anyway... it's a good news/bad news situation. I'm going to extend Round Six submission deadlines to Monday June 24 7PM for the main event "Top of the Pops 80's." The "Blooz" and "Wild West" side hustles will be due no later than the 26th, 7pm.

In the light of this unsettling and questionable news, I think it would be fun to go back into some past challenges that took place before I joined, and take a crack at them to keep my chops up. I'll start a thread for it as to not muck up this one, or maybe put it in the Riffmasters extras thread, per chance any other newbies want to get in on it with me let me know and I'll keep ya posted. And of course anyone else that just wants another reason to jam out and be creative.

We have a thread already started for Riffmasters demos and such.

It would be cool if all the RiffMasters could post some of their entries and links there as a condensed list. I'd love to revisit the last 5 rounds.

I’m working on going through this thread a s bookmarking the descriptions for each round. I agree having one spot to check out all the submission would be very cool.

If you’re looking for some real comedic relief. Look up mine where I attempted a KISS tune to Bob Dylan music. Any respect you might have had for me up till now will be flushed down the drain.

This is the alternate thread here.

Not that you all (except Sapi) don't have much else to do with the 80's #1 challenge, it's time to unveil the exciting Side Hustle Challenge for Round Six. Back four or so rounds ago brother @LiveeviL2000 mentioned something about a Spaghetti Western theme, and hadda to message him saying... just you wait! It was planned-in from the very beginning.

"The hooves of your trusty steed thunder down a dusty trail to a sketchy town, named Gamblers’ Bluff.
Now, long forgotten, this frontier community is remembered as a nasty place where poker was religion and justice often swiftly served by the man with the fastest shootin’ iron."

Dial in up that tremolo, crank the reverb, and wet your whistle with a taste of whisky fellas, ‘cause we're all headed down the olde wagon trail to the Wild, Wild West!

The above four minutes plus video of your grandpappy's pappy's uncle on the run from the law comes from a time and place your family probably don't want much to talk about. But, this here re-enactment of a portion of your dark family legacy desperately needs some dramatic cowboy movie music to make it complete.

In this challenge, RiffMasters get to create a Spaghetti Western style music bed that'll make Ennio Morricone proud!
RiffBastards can Earn four points by adding a suitably dramatic background bed that puts us into the movie and helps carry the awesome scenery and trail-poundin' action of a man on the run from the long arm of the law.

Remember, this don't need be any 3-chord wonder. Spaghetti western movie theme can be very cool, very experimental.
Do what you feel seems right. No judging. Just you, the video and the music combined in an inspired, creative manner.

Bonus points available:
Add creative sound effects, or stuff that ain’t plain old guitar music = 1pt. (voice, sound fx, singing, eagles, rattlers, whips whatever!)
Put it all together your ownself, using the same supplied footage so I don’t have to do it for you = 1pt.

Friday June 19th is your deadline if you need ME to edit the music to the video and upload
Monday June 24th is your deadline to provide us all a link to the completed video online in the RFM thread.

No RiffMasters Main Event Challenge is mandatory. Anyone can drop in at any time, and you should!
The goal is to have fun, challenge yourself, and share the creativity.

Below is the link to download the video so you may download and edit all by your ownself...
