Announcing... RiffMasters!

Yeah, I think the mass voting is kind of a "trick" which minimizes the ability for voters to vote "strategically" which arguably has plusses or minuses. In my opinion, since it's mostly "gameplayers" voting, the mass voting *feels* more fair. Rewards more players for good work rather than fewer players for great work. How many times have people commented already they wish they could vote for everyone?
So which way is better?

I think if we only specifically allowed 3 votes each in the main event votes, it could force more eager participation in the side hustles, but I think it would bruise more egos, and that is NOT something I wish RiffMasters to do.

I do welcome this discussion though! End goal is to make it more FUN and INCLUSIVE and not filter members as if it's a pure talent show
The current situation for me if I was worried about moving up I would just not compete until I got a duel. Of course then that would be a crap shoot. The duels are high points , the challenges take more time and work and get less points.
Maybe next time have a double duel . 2 v 2 winners and loosers. Points split.
Side Hustle is the best way to advance beside main vote.
The last vote was nearly a draw.

The duel points are all predetermined, but I can say looking forward, for everyone's info, by happenstance more of the battles with the larger points attached have been claimed already, so, lagging behind hoping for a big duel score is becoming a larger gamble as the game gets older.

SICK!!! You playing live drums on there? My downfall with such things is drum kit. It's like the ONLY instrument I don't play. I've been searching and searching for a real sounding pro drum machine, ( NEEDS to be user friendly or it'll end up embedded in a wall), to no avail.

Not me, I wouldn't know how to hold a drumstick, unless it was a Turkey one..

Good job!

I see your point @ibmorjamn, again all this discussion around points is moot if you remain engaged for the participation.

Now as much as I may disagree with any of the top five placings, (particularly myself!), it is noteable to look @LiveeviL2000 s
artfully colour-coded scoreboards, the top five have all won challenges, or placed top three in multiple rounds, and fulfilled several (if not all, like myself) side hustles, claiming all bonus points available. In fact, had Liveevil cowbelled to claim the full five, he'd be sitting pretty.

But I understand life has a way of getting in the way. As it stands today, I'm not sure I'll be even able to play guitar this round, due to
a knarly fretting hand injury, suffered Thursday. I'm still going to somehow enter something, even for the five participation points.

Note how RVM started late, but by doing every challenge, and on the strength of losing one duel, and fulfilling everything so far, is only one behind @clockwork who has won two duels, but missed several opportunities so, this makes @clockwork the RFM poster boy for success by dueling.

The further down the list, the more you will find situations where players opted out of opportunities, or started late.

Not saying it's 100% ideally balanced from a scoring design standpoint, but seems so far not terribly out of whack.

The goal to reach 100 by ten rounds, we should have a few people in the low 50's by the end of round five, so
things are sort of on track. I do wish there were more points available in the remaining duels, and this is something I may revisit in future rounds - If I do I will simply add more points to all of them to to make it a bit less less chance-oriented.

This chart is not quite today-accurate, I think Evil is at 43 with his Hell's Muzak submission

Rough guess, about 110 points gained in the game via the Guitar Duels so far,
Main Events points I think around 300 points
Side hustles, probably another 60 - 70

@LiveeviL2000 didn't you even buy a cowbell special?
Were you modding it, and couldn't finish in time?
Just couldn't picture yourself in a gold diaper, is probably all.
Yes I did buy a cowbell just for that entry.
I just never had the chance to clonk it around.
My plan was to play it with Looks that Kill by Motley Crue. Dressed this way and call it Cowbells that Kill.
Unfortunately the spectacle was not to be.

You still can record and share. We have that other thread going. It’d be cool.
