My post for the duel.
Thanks for listening
This is something I've been working on for a while and the Hellish Muzak gave me inspiration to finish it.
I think it would be most fair to force 1 and up to whatever ...even all I suppose. Someone might have an eye for a clear winner to them and not want to "tie" between a forced two more (if 3 were forced).Thing is, this round had the fewest entries so far(9)…making the standard “7” seem unfitting. When there were 16 entries, 7 didn’t seem as ludicrous. Whatever…perhaps it’s more of a scale perspective…keeping the vote count “one” under “half” of the entry count might keep things in a more happy place. Using this last round as an example, perhaps vote count should have been capped at “4” with a “2” vote minimum.
Just tossing it out there.
@Mitch Pearrow SJMP takes ten paces, turns and preludes with an unsettling series of tiny pic scrapes, mimicking the razor sharp claws of an agitated ol' Scratch digging deep into @Aynirar27 's face and wonderfully "on fleek" eyebrows! Just getting started, he transitions into a raspy staccato sort of double-stop musical battering ram thing bringing a bit of a knee-to-the-gut effect. Relentlessly, that knee keeps coming and coming, until we begin to hear some shrieky pick squeals, small exclamations of glee escaping from the twisted lips of Lucifer as Demon Mitch grinds away at the poor sinners' soul, harder and harder, turning it to a red gelatinous pulp. All performed on a suitably nasty looking black flying Vee, sending out gritty-but-still-greasy toanz. Crafty choice of clothing too, wearing white as if it might deceive voters he's the good guy in this battle.
Can @Aynirar27 pull himself up, and return blows? Or should the ref. just show mercy and start the ten count now?

OOOhh that's scary! that would make an excellent sound track for a movie. Well
SICK!!! You playing live drums on there? My downfall with such things is drum kit. It's like the ONLY instrument I don't play. I've been searching and searching for a real sounding pro drum machine, ( NEEDS to be user friendly or it'll end up embedded in a wall), to no avail.OOOhh that's scary! that would make an excellent sound track for a movie. Well done!
I can see both sides. Vote for 7 and there's 9 entries.... makes me feel like I chose the two I like the least and vote for the other 7. Thing is.... they've all been amazing. Vote for three does make it more of a competition, which not sure Riffmaster was intended to be.Yeah, I think the mass voting is kind of a "trick" which minimizes the ability for voters to vote "strategically" which arguably has plusses or minuses. In my opinion, since it's mostly "gameplayers" voting, the mass voting *feels* more fair. Rewards more players for good work rather than fewer players for great work. How many times have people commented already they wish they could vote for everyone?
So which way is better?
I think if we only specifically allowed 3 votes each in the main event votes, it could force more eager participation in the side hustles, but I think it would bruise more egos, and that is NOT something I wish RiffMasters to do.
I do welcome this discussion though! End goal is to make it more FUN and INCLUSIVE and not filter members as if it's a pure talent show
The first paragraph puts it out there pretty well to me. It’s a game. The participants are a broad spectrum of talented, and creative people, with a diverse spectrum of skill-sets. Some like to produce multi-instrumental multitrack audio(and/or video) performances, and do so with ease, while others don’t touch the stuff… probably don’t want to…and are happy to share their live action performances with a deserved pride(no editing, fancy effects, just them playing…uncut…to a phone camera…putting it out there). This game puts all of those varied people on the same playing field. No easy task. Same goes for judging/voting for the field of entrants.Yeah, I think the mass voting is kind of a "trick" which minimizes the ability for voters to vote "strategically" which arguably has plusses or minuses.
