I’d like to thank Cake…for giving me the confidence to take pride in my natural rap style.
This recording/mix was done using only 3 effects plugins:
A plate reverb on a vocal effects bus.
EZDrummer 3.(when the electrics kick in, after the triangle strike)
A “mastering/limiter” plug on the main bus…a factory preset called “Soul Enhancer”.
No eq, or anything else….I'm fairly certain that could be a criminal offense in some places.

The rap/country intro was done completely with acoustic “instruments”….These “instruments”:

These were the other stringed instruments used….

This was some crazy shizz to put together, and it was recorded while it was being written.
I don’t have a pic of the lyric sheet yet…
Oh, yeah! And I finally got to “reverse selected item as a new take” near the end….that was fun.

That is excellently done! the lyrics, the tones, the changeups, I can tell the amount of work that went into this song. Well done sir..to me it's a home run.

Alright….here’s my “rap/country/rock” mashup.

Get in the truck Malory!!
I can’t stop finding all these little nuggets in this song!!
This is the most entertaining song ever!!!
This is my 4th listen.
One question. Did you have the washboard and triangle hanging around the house or did you spend the last 5 weeks going to garage sales finding everything.
Also, did you use the soldering iRon in the recording somewhere??

Guys. I’m not kidding. These songs are album publish worthy.

I have no idea how to vote this round.
They are all entertaining.
I can’t tell you how they all leave me wanting more.
Production levels are top notch.
I really want to collect all of them, put them in album form and publish the tracks. Call the Album …

Workin’ on my first cup…rough night…rough hockey loss(massacre)…but this makes it better…

Ha! I had a blast with this one! There wasn’t enough room in the song arrangement for everything that came to mind.

Wow sir!..Thanks for that!!! To answer that question: The washboard was a loan, someone at work said that they thought they had one kicking around…couple weeks later, they handed me that one. It turned out to be a decorative glass one, but it made an interesting noise using the screwdriver handles. The triangle is one of a few odds-n-ends I’ve had kicking around here for years.
Also, did you use the soldering iRon in the recording somewhere??
Well….I assembled at least one patch cable, used in the recording, with it. :)

What if a fellow put together a longform youtube vid with all these songs, and scrolled the lyrics for each over some generic background b-roll? Somebody just roll video driving around a trailer court or at a mud truck rally or similar for background. Or driving around some rural areas

Everybody'd have to agree to take part. Might be fun to promote all y'alls as individuals and The Tone Rooms as a creative venue/community.

Just a thought

Nice man, Factory kickin it out again !!

Wow! Too many excellent entries. I am now humbled and embarrassed by my meagre effort. It's fun tho for me and that's what counts. People are writing songs and doing full blown productions here and the bar keeps raising.

@Randy Van Malmsteen , @Ku² , @Thatbastarddon

I didn't get a chance to listen to your entries yesterday.
Incredible job! We have harmonies up the whazoo, cool lyrics, much production and playing. My hat's off to you fellas!
Gonna make voting very difficult.

Agreed this round was flat out amazing, the only one I knew I could not vote for was myself. Good fun.

Ha ha, I have some music on the TV shows Muddin' and Duck Dynasty. Never watched either but my contact assures me they placed and I SHOULD be getting royalty checks. (Still haven't seen a cent)
There sure are some gems this round. Voting WAS hard. Curious to see the tally.

While we vote... This morning I experimented with something called Suno.
LINK

It's a full blown AI song/music generator. Not just lyrics, not just music, but full blown produced songs, with intros, verses, choruses, etc. Not yet full quality but already rather astounding for how young this tech is.

My prompt was: "Create a country rock redneck anthem glorifying big trucks with a rap style bridge" 25 seconds later, it gave me two tries at it, here's the second one

It's only giving me a shorter portion of the generated song, Probably bcz I'm just using the free version.

Frankly, I don't know what to think, it's generic as heck, but where this is all going is definitely cause for much wonder. No AI songs allowed for RiffMasters please!

Might be a fun separate thread. Make a love song for your lady. An angry song about your boss. A wedding video song. I wonder if it does instrumentals only?
Pretty insane.

The beginning of the end, my friend...

Wow, that's quite plausible. I caught myself grooving on the chorus in the first one. LOL
In similar logic, I wonder if people that went to art school are feeling sick right now when they see how artwork is created with AI.
For example, I used Google's Gemini to great my avatar by typing cyberpunk stratocaster - then picked an image that I liked. Larger version attached. If you have a gmail account, Gemini is free. I needed to edit the image a little - the knobs and 5-way switch were odd. Gemini can write lyrics too.

Having real skills is going to become something magical. I wonder if the next generations will have the patience to learn anything, because it's a long road where the cost/benefit analysis will be dubious.
I think about my day job - and predict 90% of it could be automated with AI . Wizard-driven decision trees could provide the same answers that I verbally impart. On the software side, it's hectic, but much of it's routine and could be scripted.
