Announcing... RiffMasters!

OK here's my reggae version of...
Flying_High_Again.mp3
I've read that Jamaicans have an affinity for something that might take their minds into the sky.
The pilot tie-in seemed logical too.
Has a shuffle off-beat groove with some trippy delays.
I found an abused Muppet at Goodwill to sing the high part.
Nice ! Like the tactful shred applied , sounding great !

That was really cool

I will be out of office for a couple weeks. Will be returning sometime week of Mar 3. I did not bring a guitar. Planning on some beach time on the Gulf. If you need to contact me… please call my service at 1-123-Who Cares. Please don’t expect a response. :pound-hand:

Now returned from Cancun, too much food, drink & sun and a suitcase full of damp gritty clothing. Serious catching up to do today. Thank you @LiveeviL2000 and the rest of the crew for keeping the ship safely off the rocks!

RVM honors Jah with a harmonically rich and super drenched ode to being a bad, bad boy... possibly the most densely-produced piece submitted to RiffMasters so far. Sound effects brace us for the departure, then steel drums as nod to the traditional, ease us into an upbeat joyful ditty. The little Randy rip at the end balances it all off. An actual musical journey traveling between worlds in a little over 2 minutes. Helluva lot of work into that ...super deserving for automatic tree big banana!

I contrived most of my Reggae ragu lyrics with my feet being gently scrubbed by salt, sand and gorgeous turquoise Carribean surf... I'm itchin to lay it down before deadline. I also have to go back and listen to the other submissions over the past week as well... and tabulate who done what so expect some more mini reviews once I get my bearings

Fellas, I went through a few what I missed while I was away, so much stellar work!
C-Grin's "The Dew" being a quirky, clever lyric mashup, holding our attention right to the end, no need for slide whistle at all, and the first submission utilizing a power tool. Then, he brought us a rather Buffet-esque "Gettin' Busy" reggae tune seeming way way too relaxed for fella who claims to be in recovery. Really enjoyed his stream-of-consciousness lyrics allowing us a brief window into what appears to be a gentle, fun-loving soul. Who couldn't like what they saw and heard?

BFT's "No Puff-Puff" was super cool, unbelievable quality for how fast he got it done - I wish I had those production chops. Shows what raw inspiration can do to a fella. Very natural trad reggae feel too, like he was perhaps meant to do more music in this style.

RVM's "Big Hat, No Cattle" Dirty Dirt entry brought us bits of guitary virtuosity in a hyped-up country-western showcase. A truckload of alpha cowpoke attitude and energy spraying notes all directions. The end got rather scary morphing into a full-on heavy metal assault substituting licks being sprayed for actual bullets. If this is a window into his soul, seems maybe not so gentle as C-Grins' - RVM seems out for blood.

Message received!

Fellas, this is your TWO WEEK WARNING 'til deadline.
Only three members have completed all round three assignments. Four of those above have not yet submitted anything. There is no requirement to do so.
You'll only fall back in points. But be aware this could put you in "Guitar Duel" position for round 4. Maybe you want that! Maybe you don't.

Also a couple messages from Wavmixer tell me he's diggin' what he's seeing from you and it has spurred him to work on a couple of things in the software background to smooth out finding this thread more easily on TTR, AND make our musical submissions less a hassle as well. So join me in three cheers for @WavMixer down there in the TTR engine room!

Thanks Mang! I was toying with the idea of playing the solo with steel drums, which would have sounded cool too. But... since this is a guitar forum I didn't think my MIDI-programmed steel drumming would be more interesting than letting it rip with some real guitar. Playing the solo in a shuffle timebase at that tempo was a bit trickier than I'd expected.
Funny story... for 15+ years my cover band played Fast as You by Dwight Yoakam... I inserted that tapping part from that solo in this country-rock tune because I like it that much. That solo is very unique, and the chord changes underneath are too... I can't really think of anything similar it in any other song I've heard.

Barnacle Bob also very quiet today. Hope he's not done his "Garden State" reggae tune

I've always wanted to throw that sequence in somewhere too.
