Announcing... RiffMasters!

@BFT Gibson drops what is pretty clearly the most ambitious prog. piece so far, a slowly darkening trilogy suite, almost seeming like a desperate cry for help to my ears... mind-breaking in the same way his pieces can often be.

When it moves from the repeated proud lyrical moment of "caught me a trout!" driving headlong into a dark sonic abyss of social self-affirmation, where personal demons are invited to come revel and dance wildly with denialistic abandon.

That was something else, my friend! Your raw level of creative expression is going to be tough to go up against in any vote.

2 points automatic... let's see how the rest of it fares in the vote in early March.

Thanks TV , you are really good at looking introspectively into music

Here's "Big Boss" my RiffMasters Main Event "Dirty Dirt" Ch. 3 entry

Has all three elements for the bonus points, I believe. Hard rock, rap, country themes AND I slid my slidey-slide in there too. This ditty was inspired by the ruthless, near-legendary way @Thatbastarddon oversees his work crews, like... a... Big Boss!

Single coil paisley tele on slide, tremolo & lead bits. Hamer DC on plexi duty. Washburn acoustic hammerin' away in the back. Shortscale bass. Volume/panning automation. Bass seems boomy in final mix on my speakers here, sounds ok in headphones though.

Just went with it, I fretted about this mix/master way too much. Spent two hours micro-sliding faders, did I get anything better or worse in the end? Have no idea. I watched too many youtube mixing tutorials LOL! I could be the ideal case for an AI mastering plugins - blame it on the software but at least be done in mere minutes.

In contrast to more thoughtful / meaningful themes offered so far this round, "Big Boss" reeks of lyrical cheeze. In my defense this is more true to the genre. Turn it up to annoy all within earshot!

Big Boss

It's time to go to work, boys!

In the mornin', feeling pretty nice
Honey's in the kitchen, 'cause I treated her right
Just like a Big Boss
She's a smoke show... long, long legs,
Can't stay away from her bacon & eggs
She calls me Big Boss

Hell Yeah! You know it! I told ya!
Lookie here now...

Climb into my ride, tall, dark 'n heavy
Duramax growl, she's a frickin' diesel Chevy
You know how it goes.... ride like a Big Boss!
Slow roll the jobsite, all hands on deck
My crew busts ass, or they don't get cheques
'Cause I'm the Big Boss... Yeah, the Big Boss

Hell Yeah! I Tell you whut! Listen here now..
... hand me that microphone!
Rap Breakdown
Look you in the eye, got big, big swagger
Super hardcore, no lollygagger
Raised up Texas, conquered Alabama
Straight-up, crew-cut, tailgate slammer
Don't be messin' ...full respect
Tree trunk arms'll get you rek'd
Ladies dream on gettin' a chance
I ain't got time for bad romance

That's just not how Big Bosses work... ya gotta keep it clean...
Like a Big Boss

All you greenhorns try'n to work harder
I'm three steps ahead, 'cause I work smarter
I'm a decent man, far as I can tell,
But when I die, probably run Hell,
Like a Big Boss, just like a Big Boss
J. Fogerty influenced guitar solo (may actually be full-on stolen property LOL!)

Like a big boss, Like a big boss, etc... repeat out
(construction site chatter outtro)
