Announcing... RiffMasters!

Just occurred to me if you fellas put the effort in and focus on original material through this RiffMasters adventure you may not only find your work extra competitive in each of the challenge votes, but you just might be able build yourselves almost full album worth of interesting material that could stand on it's own pretty easily. Wouldn't that be a fun accomplishment to have under your belt, if you never thought you could do something like that?

Submission Update for Main Event Round 3 "Dirty Dirt"

LiveeviL2000 - Slided home plate headfirst by Dirty Dirting in the big city

Clockworkmike - slided his way onto Jack Butler's :poo:list
Mitch Pearrow SJMP - has threatened to purchase a slide
Ku² - delivered vague threatlike promises and gear boastin'
ibmorjamn - if you listen real close, still sounds pretty quiet
TVvoodoo - Is desperately failing challenges HE came up with
C-Grin - was expecting a new lava lamp, but.... porch pirates
Jethro Rocker - Dobro too shiny, can't find his sunglasses
Sapient - Delivered possibly mortal wound to RVM in Slidey Guitar Duel
SG John -
Has submitted previous slidey material for 1 point
Thatbastarddon - Attempting to repurpose vintage tone kazoo into a slide
Kerry Brown - is on personal hiatus, we all wish him 100% good mojo
jtcnj - is waiting for inspiration to spark him back into action
Randy Van Malmsteen - Has approx. 28 hours to come back in Slidey Duel
Iblive - Is watching, waiting. Considering taking rap lessons in the 'hood
BFT Gibson - Made a vague passing mention of a notion to maybe submit

Who is going surprise us all by dropping in next to flex their creative muscles?

Main Event Round 3 allows 2 submits by TTR-ites wanting to make music, have fun, be a dude

ANY and ALL are welcome to join in at any time, points are not important.
RiffMasters is much more about generating inspiration /creativity.

ok guys, I think I'm first.
Here is how I recorded it.
Rhythm Guitar: Jackson Pro Series KVT King V Pro (Drop D)
Slide Guitar: Gibson Adam Jones Signature Series Les Paul (Open D)
Drums: EZ Drummer3
No bass this time, the LP had a good bit of bottom end.

I tried to include the whole thing. Rock, Country, Rap, and Slide guitar.

Lyrics
(Verse 1)
Saddle up, partner, we're ridin' high,
No dusty trails, No western sky.
Got my cowboy kicks, no Jingling spurs
The city is my prairie, dont live in the burbs
Concrete dreams, where neon gleams,
Skyline horizons, no desert schemes
I’m a city slicker, not a dumb ass cowpoke
Spitin out these lyrics and I aint no joke!

(Verse 2)
On the Hudson River, not the Rio Grand
I’m a east coast f**ker, from the promised land
Dont ride no bulls, dont wrangle no steeds
Its the concrete jungle fool, there aint no need
No tumbleweed whispers, just sirens wail,
In this metropolis, ambitions sail.
Kinda like Clint and the Man with no Name
More like Dirty Harry, That’s my game.

(Verse 3)
From the subway echoes to the city beats,
I hustle and flow on these urban streets.
Concrete canyons, skyscrapers so high,
No dusty trails, just a city sky.
Dodging city cabs, not a wild stampede,
In this asphalt wilderness, my dreams succeed.
Heart of the city, where tales are told.
Graffiti walls, paint my story bold

(Verse 4)
No street showdowns, no barroom brawl,
this urban rodeo, where I walk tall.
My lasso swings from the subway lines,
Catchin' my dreams in these city confines.
A different kind of sunset, in city glow,
From Broadway stages to alley flow.
So saddle up, partner, in the city strife,
I’m a city slicker cowboy, I live a wild life.

Man I got to hand it to you Bro! The words, the music, everything is so right on, your timing. The best work you have done to date! I get 1st dibs on being your Manager..(y)(y)

Lol that was awesome. Pretty much covered all aspects of the three options. Winner as far as I'm concerned

Thanks guys!
I figured I have to go all out to compete with kazoos, lava lamps, trucker hats, mountain dew and whatever else is to come.

I dont know about all that. I'm first out of the gate, in horse racing thats usually not the winner.

Got Two Turntables some Jack and Homegrown

Well I'm going down to the rodeo after I pop my bitch
Gun sling off my new 45 put a rival in the ditch

Day is new but my bottle ain't half in me still feels likes fire
Ain't nobody gonna fk with me because I'm a badass western vampire

Got two turn tables some Jack and homegrown
Come close to me and I'll rack your bones

Got two turn tables some Jack and homegrown
rolling out my rhymes getting stoned

Got two turn tables some Jack and homegrown
Was counting money all through the night

Got two turn tables some Jack and homegrown
Round my lions picking shark fights

Another day's down and I'm bad as hell cuz started the place on fire
High voltage means nothing to me I can chew on the bare wire

Time to kick it now with black rottweiler put a beer in his bowl
I'm hangin' my hat gonna tip another bottle Just another night I roll

Got two turn tables some Jack and homegrown
Come close to me and I'll rack your bones

Got two turn tables some Jack and homegrown
rolling out my rhymes getting stoned

Got two turn tables some Jack and homegrown
Was counting money all through the night

Got two turn tables some Jack and homegrown
Round my lions picking shark fights

So I was sitting my recording grotto for a few hours and feeling not bad about myself some progress.... then I open this thread up, and get deflated pretty fast LOL!!

@Sapient the level of production detail... some bona fide hip hop tricks up your sleeve ... droppin' da beatz man! Whinny.. whoopin'! That guitar in the chorus... great hook! Really amazing! All tight, lots of attitude, call and answer "sheeeeeit!" a little bit scary too! Which is proper! Proving you are TTR OG studio whiz ...
I'm stealing some of your ideas maybe LOL!

@C-Grin you were totally in the zone several times there... I could feel it man! sounding so good with that tele tone and a bit of delay... if my hair was that colour I'd have the dang blues too..

Gentlemen... that was worth staying up for!
