Announcing... RiffMasters!

I not a literary genius either. But being Italian helps. I think genetically I am geared toward colorful metaphors. Like Granny’s Blueberry Muffins. (Brad’s favorite! :giggle: )

Brads muffins are made with these Liveevil..

Saskatoon berries are delicious fruits that look like smaller blueberries. You can eat them fresh or in a variety of recipes. They're rich in antioxidants and other nutrients that are good for your health.

And they have their own sport team too!

What is going on with @Randy Van Malmsteen ? The suspense is killing me!

giphy.gif

He has only about a day and a half remaining to aim and fire his musical pistola at @Sapient who may have mortally wounded him with that soul-crushing first shot.

Will RVM attempt to parry Sap's thrust with more traditional acousticky delta slide? Or, go all "bad to the bone" on his ass with an electrically-charged counterpunch? Perhaps we'll hear some joyful Hawaiian guitar madness, plaintive pedal steel or wicked lap slide in return. Who knows what dark magick he's brewin' up! All I know is it's still a little too early for sapient to begin adding all 15 points to his score.

Sure would be nice to have a vote this weekend though! It'll distract me from my own repeated failing attempts to complete the dirty dirt challenge I came up with LOL!!

How are the rest of you doing on that one? Is anyone else going to slide home head first for an automatic single point? We need some new music up in here!

I’ve been crazy busy with work and other general family disasters, hoping to get some time this weekend:cry:

ok guys, I think I'm first.
Here is how I recorded it.
Rhythm Guitar: Jackson Pro Series KVT King V Pro (Drop D)
Slide Guitar: Gibson Adam Jones Signature Series Les Paul (Open D)
Drums: EZ Drummer3
No bass this time, the LP had a good bit of bottom end.

I tried to include the whole thing. Rock, Country, Rap, and Slide guitar.

Lyrics
(Verse 1)
Saddle up, partner, we're ridin' high,
No dusty trails, No western sky.
Got my cowboy kicks, no Jingling spurs
The city is my prairie, dont live in the burbs
Concrete dreams, where neon gleams,
Skyline horizons, no desert schemes
I’m a city slicker, not a dumb ass cowpoke
Spitin out these lyrics and I aint no joke!

(Verse 2)
On the Hudson River, not the Rio Grand
I’m a east coast f**ker, from the promised land
Dont ride no bulls, dont wrangle no steeds
Its the concrete jungle fool, there aint no need
No tumbleweed whispers, just sirens wail,
In this metropolis, ambitions sail.
Kinda like Clint and the Man with no Name
More like Dirty Harry, That’s my game.

(Verse 3)
From the subway echoes to the city beats,
I hustle and flow on these urban streets.
Concrete canyons, skyscrapers so high,
No dusty trails, just a city sky.
Dodging city cabs, not a wild stampede,
In this asphalt wilderness, my dreams succeed.
Heart of the city, where tales are told.
Graffiti walls, paint my story bold

(Verse 4)
No street showdowns, no barroom brawl,
this urban rodeo, where I walk tall.
My lasso swings from the subway lines,
Catchin' my dreams in these city confines.
A different kind of sunset, in city glow,
From Broadway stages to alley flow.
So saddle up, partner, in the city strife,
I’m a city slicker cowboy, I live a wild life.

OH man, that last verse? Then the marching beat snare outtro with the wind FX fading in? I can see the tumbleweeds rollin' through times square

we all be like...

HOLEY MOLEY MAN! Bar set real high. That was real good man. REAL good. Geez! My TTR brothers we have created a MONSTER!

So, if I am to see this right, it is not only good for a single automatic point on the slideyness,.but also has the cowboy, the rock/metal AND the rap vibe for another 2 automatic points.

Well done brother Vito!

Love that jangle

LiveeviL2000 seems to be having hardly no trouble with the challenges set before him. Not only is he fearless, he eats danger for breakfast and poops out victory

Who among us can stop him?

It's random/funny how the "Slide It In" Guitar Duel thing happened by chance in the same round as Main Event "Dirty Dirt" offering an opportunity Barbarian Barb just took advantage of.

This could happen again in the game if the cards fall right, but might not never be quite so natural a match. Huge props for liveevil taking a pretty big chance and managing to pull that off, especially since he says he felt out of his element.

This is what pure creativity winning in the face of adversity is all about.

Besides creativity in the music/arrangement/production take a look at those lyrics. Loaded with metaphors, each line crafted with extremely visual terms... then delivered with conviction... You can't read along without seeing it all in your head. This is real strong songwriting.
