I did try to do the Folk Challenge in both directions with a few different songs, but it just didn't come together.
Recording / production is all new to me as well and the game did push me back into learning, so that was a plus.

It was fun until it wasn't after the personal attacks during the duel thing.
Just like in the Game of Tones, ego reveals more of the true nature of some people.

I'm probably the least skilled on this forum, and have always been reluctant to post any of my playing.
I'll leave this to the "real" guitar players, and continue my journey and enjoyment of the hobby.

Hopefully you stick around. I am just doing this for fun as I rarely play at home and it kinda forces me. I for one want you to keep at it!!
 
Well it looks like we owe BIG congratulations to our Round Two Winner @Ku²
Coming through with his harmonized guitar send-up "Sound of Silence" earning 15 votes
It was truly "Folk'd-Up!" He started slow yesterday, but charged up strong from early today

Runner up, who also started slow but got plenty of momentum slip-streamin' behind
the Ku-Kucapbra ix @Thatbastarddon tied with 15 votes, with \ sweet sounding acoustic
arrangement of the blue collar Rush classic "Workin' Man" Unfortunately, the later entry rule
bumps Donny into second fiddle. Maybe that'll learn him.

Sole ownership in third place is @LiveeviL2000 who folk'd up

Other than the top three, everyone else gets an automatic 5 points for participating and
bringing us their musical stylings.

It was an interesting vote this time, there were several changes to the lead, some of the top
early leaders had no stamina it seems. Randy Van Malmsteen made a valiant late vote charge
just ran out of voters, his crazy train ran out of steam.

Thank you to all the those who voted and lets congratulate our winners while I get the Main Event
Stage 3 ready for unveiling!

Meet Cal, my neighbor sort of, two houses down. I think on him and his ladyfriend Sissy each morning as he revs up his gigantic 4X4 at 5:20am. Apparently the muffler’s gone as is all the useless emissions equipment he tore off to sell for GOOD CASH MONEY! Cal works oilfield, so he don’t work all the time. But, when he does, he works hard. Afterwards, he plays even harder. Cal digs music too. Usually late into the night, during regular backyard firepit drinkin’ sessions with five or six of his work buddies beside a rusted-out ‘68 Ford Fairlane lawn decoration.

Sometimes his music is a kind of like hard rock/metal, sometimes it’s country, sometimes it’s rap. Often, it just seems all mushed-up together in some sort of crazy musical soup. It’s always plenty loud and got lots of "attitude" to it, so the whole neighbourhood gets to enjoy! Plus when you add in the scary barking dogs, plenty of random fireworks and whole lotta hootin’ & hollerin’ too!

“Dirty Dirt”

Your challenge: Make us a kind of music song built perfect/special for Cal, and his friends. I believe you got folks just like him way down there in the USA, too. Might even be one yourself. Not judging! When you make your tune, you can cover an existing song, or even make your own up. But, your submission MUST somehow combine elements at least TWO of the three genres: RockMetal / Country / Rap
However you see fit to do it. Iffen you are REAL RiffMaster material, might manage to build in a little of ALL THREE of them genres into your submission (min. 1:00 long). Lookie there, you do that? Sure's Hell we got usselves a real musical jeanyus in here, ain't that right? I reckon something real special like that might as well be good for an AUTOMATIC BONUS 2 POINTS!

Deadline for submission: Five weeks from tonight, 7 PM Saturday, March 2nd.
Main Event Scoring: 48 hour Community Vote on submissions after the deadline passes.
Top Vote Earner = 10 points
Second & Third Places = 7 points. All others, automatic 5.
2 automatic bonus points if you can meld Rock/Country/Rap into one piece.
In the event of a tied vote, earliest submission wins top position.

There's gonna be other stuff going on too... Going to be a fued started up 'tween two members, you'll be able to join in too. Looks like it's gonna be @Sapient challenging @Randy Van Malmsteen Fun!

Might even be a surprise bonus challenge later on, I figure that's plenty enough chew on for tonight.
