Announcing... RiffMasters!

Not at all. Just inside the window. Who else's mind is racing like crazy over the variety of songs to possibly tackle?

Jeebuz Riffmas what have I done?
I think I got the one I wanna do, already. Was messing around last night with it and kinda liked where it's going. It was taking a folk song and metalling it up. Folking up a metal song however, still tossing around some ideas lol

I'm in the same boat.
I've got the song I want to ramp up.
I'm making a short list of songs I might be able to folk up. I figure I play them so bad anyway, how much more could I folk it up!
HAHAHAHA!!! See what I did there? HAHA!! **snort** HAHAHA!! folk it up!!! oh man I kill me!!!

In all the stressy excitement of putting together last night's Opening Act vote results then dropping the RiffMasters Challenge #2 "Folked Up," I neglected to appreciate those who kindly cast votes for The Sistah! Actually taking part in one of these, I get to feel it 4realz!

From the bottom of my cold Canadian Heart - Thank You so much

I knew it was going to be an outlier kind of song choice, but it was the best of the three I had to work with... v.s John Denver? OMG! Votes started out real slow for me, it was kinda terrifying! Then later I checked in to find I was in a 4-way tie for second. Couldn't believe it!

Really? Me? Just being in the points now as sole owner of third the turd? What a great cap on 2023! I don't expect it to last long!

Gonna enjoy the hell out of it while it lasts

Also note while Clockwork was just out of the meatiest points on the main vote, on the strength of his "Guitar Duel" performance, (liveevil200 as well) they now sit in first and a share of second positions. I'm seeing this as an early validation of the RiffMasters scoring system where higher level of participation is rewarded

Once again game points are all fine, but it's participation that might really add up. Even the three who did not submit for Main Event #1 could still easily catapult themselves into a very strong position, even the lead if a higher valued "Guitar Duel" is picked. I will add now that "I'd Tap That" was of a higher difficulty for lower points available ratio.

But all who took a stab at it had a LOT of fun too, I can hear it in the submissions. Jethro even did it twice!

challenge 1 I'd tap that.jpg

The points are just waiting there behind these questioning doors. We now have a few days to wonder who's going to jump in and grab 'em up? At this point, Plan "A" is to bring back any of the MIA SpliffPlastered three @Mitch Pearrow SJMP or @LRT or @mcblink

FIRST ONE of you fellas TO NOTIFY ME YOU'RE STILL in the hunt before the 28th of Dec.
gets to choose the mystery challenge waiting behind the Guitar Duel door of your choice.

Failing that, I will move to duel Plan "B" which is still formulatin'

it was suggested by somebody real smart to offer a hand up to @Jethro Rocker @BFT Gibson and @C-Grin to
become part of the regular crew, eligible to be challenged for guitar duels.

Let me know if you fellas want that, I think it would be preferable just for overall group cohesiveness.
But remember, when it's time to challenge, or be challenged, you can't just decide to run away or
opt out without paying some sort of penance.
I have to opt out, have really enjoyed listening to everybody playing. Finally in a good spot in life after a very rough 5 years, Work is so hostile now on the streets. Music has become my happy space again after not playing for basically 2 years. Anything competitive in my life is not good, have become so aggressive just trying to be safe working. Trying to turn that off as much as possible. Side benefit of it, been on a nice 2 year fitness binge to stay leveled out.

Sad to hear that, but please jump in and out anytime in the main game or side challenges any time you are feeling it. if the physical exercise is benefitting you, maybe the musical exercise might too!

@C-Grin and @Jethro Rocker - welcome to the pack. You are now fully eligible to be challenged, though where you both sit in points now, not likely to be challenged anytime soon.

I would say now that if ANYONE watching from outside the game is feeling like they wish to join with zero points on the board and ready, willing and able for future dueling action, just let us know you want in!

Cool, oh we exercising musically, recording full song a week. My drummer & i are really digging down to see if we can get out playing one more time on the outside charity concerts my friends hold on the cities. They are a blast, Camden, Philly, Manhattan,
Here was my zoomed view from stage set up looking back across river from Camden City Hall to Philly in 2016 , There is Manhattan in 2016, my buddies band,we set up on Cherry St right in the lil park between the high rises. Total humanity bonding for a change. free food & clothes. local Churches & christian radio stations help out

That I can understand, just getting to and from work is a struggle for me. Battling the masses is not a good place to be.
I am glad you are in a better place.
Coming back to music sounds like a blessing !
