Announcing... RiffMasters!

Just a reminder for TTR members/adventure watchers... This is Round Ten. The final Chapter in our first Adventure.

Will there be more Riffmadness to come? Perhaps.

But, that's why you need to take advantage of this last chapter and get your votes and submissions in
while it's still a thing. A reminder..... there is still ONE FINAL RiffMasters challenge yet-to-be-revealed, the
Chapter 10 Side Hustle. This comes at us in shortly after the current Official Guitar Duel vote result
settles out, so it's not much more than a day and a half away.

I can promise you it will be very different than anything else we've tried so far, but the points on offer will
be super enticing!

With approx 8 hours remaining in the chapter 10 Guitar Duel Vote it seems that one MonsterMaster
is outperforming the other and working on building a bit of a margin. But that's no guarantee!

Good luck to both "Tame The Beast" submitters, both contributions were highly enjoyable and I look
forward to everyone who can, to put on a display of your own feedback-wranglin' skillz for the single point.

Tonight we also get the final Side Hustle, after this Official Duel vote is settled.

Well I wracked my brain for a gif where two warriors fell each other, but came up empty-headed.

But the reality is, this is where we are. Mitch's Monster and Don's Bastard have come to a stalemate. A RiffMasters first!

So, because I don't have much imagination, and I don't think the first-in rule should apply for duels as a tie-breaker, I rule they both earn an equal share of total points available. However, the total of 18 + 9 = 27 So, since Mitch WAS first in with his duel submission, let's give him the extra point for getting off the first shot.
Mitch P = 14 pts, ThatbastardDon = 13 But again I want to affirm battle-wise... this was a DRAW between competitors.

I think that's about as equitable as it can get, and quite exciting to see these two happy warriors face off against each other.

Stand by for the final challenge

Chapter 10 Side Hustle

Press Play

Mariachi is an ensemble of musicians that typically play ranchera, a regional Mexican music going back to at least the 18th century.
It first evolved in the countryside of various regions of western Mexico. Modifications of the form included influences from polkas and
waltzes, then the addition of trumpets and violins and incorporation of charro dress (decorative mexican cowboy outfits). In the
early-early 20th century, mariachi was seen as low class musical form, a soundtrack for womanizing and drinking, especially of tequila.
However, over time this perception changed and it has become a much prouder, more nationalized form of music. Mariachi styles
began to take on national prominence in the first half of the 20th century Mexico, gaining wider radio airplay becoming an integral part
of Mexican life as it began being utilized more and more at important events such as weddings, funerals, presidential inaugurations, etc.
Many song styles / genres inside Mariachi, including corridos, boleros, ballads, sones, danzones, joropos, pasodobles, marches, polkas,
waltzes and chotís. Song themes are about machismo, love, betrayal, death, politics, revolutionary heroes, and country life.

None of us are a part of of brass/string ensembles I don't think, nor are there any guitarrón in the house, so full-on accurate mariachi is
probably not a real option. That doesn’t mean we can’t muster up a little south-of-the-border latin-flavored guitarra, keep it acoustic,
or rock it up if all you want.

The most Side Hustle points ever available, but as you may expect,
RiffMasters gotta work a little harder to earn the full benefit.

El Mariachi Scoring
Submit a traditional cover, 5 pts.
Submit an original instrumental 8 pts.
Submit an original with your lyrics sung in English (include the text please) 10 pts.
Submit an original with your lyrics sung in Spanish, (include lyric text in both Spanish and an English translation) 15 points.

All Minimum 2:00 time
Side Hustle submissions are due in this thread before the end of the Chapter 10 Main Event vote.
There is no voting on this side-event. The points will automatic depending on your approach.

Most of all, have fun! This challenge open to ANY TTR member, if you want to give it a try.
“¡Qué padre!”
