Announcing... RiffMasters!

Here's my "Wild Wild West" submission entitled "Six-Gun Marinara"

It's similar to the first version I lost via saving technical error, missing the cooler melodic bass lines I had
before and tempo changes were more apparent in the original. String section was superior too, but it is what it is. I re-recorded most of these parts in about an hour after my project save brain fahrt, feeling rather dejected.

This was my first attempt at hats, bass drum via the Yama keyboard, ie: tapping it in with my fingers. Couldn't figure out a way to make smooth tempo transitions with the midi drums in reaper, or it was too much a battle to get several tempo changes to match, so I just ended up pounding it in manually. This is probably more an issue with my rhythm than the software. In retrospect, I wonder if you can pre-set reapers metronome fto make tempo changes at certain points prior to recording, like ramping up over 2 bars, etc.
That would have been the answer.

Acoustic: Washburn dreadnaught, close miked, DADGAD
Electric - Yamaha skull strat.
Bass 3/4" scale Rondo SX "Buh-Bye Kitty" Bass.
String patch on the keys, that washboardy percussion is a güiro, also one of my cheap Yamaha keyboard drum samples. The eerie repeating lash echo thing was pulled from a sound effects CD

The music didn't line up exactly with the duel like I wanted, my error. I think my first version was better in that regard too. But, I feel this is ok, if leaning a bit much on the melancholic, a sad/desperate cowboy on the run sort of vibe, while he "boomer bends" away soulfully to his heart's content LOL! I guess it's just what I was feeling.

4 points participation, 1 for the edit, 1 for the SFX = 6 for yet another short term stay
in the Penthouse. My lord, @Ku² :eek::oops: What have you done to our poor kitchen?

Come awn son, I haven't been in the kitchen fer at least 29 days. You wreck it up tryin' to make me look bad, then realized you're shootin' yerself in the foot?

ok, here is my blues submission.
I did a simple bass progression. 70bpm 12 bar Gm/Cm/Dm and I started outlining where I was going to go with guitar last night. Too bad I got stupid today.
I'm trying not to be pissed about this. I never played straight up blues and this was going to be my first crack at it.
Anyhow, here it is kinda boring warts and all.

That’s a different approach, but it is bluesy
I must admit nice and relaxing

Nicely done. Our new resident Jazz lady can chime in…. But I get a bit of Jazz feel mixed in there. And that’s a good thing.

@LiveeviL2000 shows once again, he can even do excel magic while suffering major battle wounds.
Pickleball? Isn't that the old ladies "sport?" Was she beating you that bad, man?

That looks real awful man. Listen, you take all months off you need to get back to 100%.
I was feeling your blues, though. Fully enjoyable, may I officially title it...

wait for it....

"What a Racquet!"

:pound-hand: :pound-hand: :pound-hand: :pound-hand:

I'm here all week. In the Penthouse that is... point for Evilllll!

I am going to submit the rough draft of my blues submission.

Why you may say.

Today I sliced my right thumb pretty good and holding a pick is proving challenging

The next obvious question is how.
Before you read how. Please make sure you are near a bathroom or have adult diapers on. You will most certainly pee yourselves.

Ready??

Pickleball!
Apparently it is not a full contact sport.
Okay. No one else asked. So guess I’ll ask. How in the world did you do that to your hand playing pickleball?

Okay. No one else asked. So guess I’ll ask. How in the world did you do that to your hand playing pickleball?
We had a company picnic. We held it in the parking lot. So we had BBQ catering. Beer truck. Huge tent. Dance floor. DJ. Ice cream truck. And games like Cornhole, Can-Jam, ladderball, and of course … pickleball.

I was asked to play pickleball, so I said yes.
As we were playing, the ball was hit my way and I took one step back. I stepped into a shallow pothole and instead of just falling on the spot. I tried to maintain balance. Before I knew it my feet kept going to try and keep me upright. And I was going faster and faster until it felt like my legs were sprinting. I swear I could hear the wind in my ears!
Anyway…
I must have ran stumbling like a keystone cop a good 20’ before I finally lost balance completely then tumbled and rolled.
When I got up I felt like I was tossed out of a moving car. I didn’t realize I was bleeding like a stuck pig until I got back to the net.
I now have a really sore gashed right thumb.
Scrapes from my left forearm to my left shoulder.
My knee is jacked up.
My neck, back, shoulders and left side of my chest hurt.
How does one hurt the left pectoral muscle???

pickleball is no joke, it gets rough out there.
Note to self.
Wear full football pads next time.
