Announcing... RiffMasters!

Can I still cowbell or is it too late?? Wasn't sure if the extras were on the same time frame?

I didn't vote this round out of protest. HOW can we vote for 7 people out of 9 and call that voting?? The only effect of this is the inverse of "who are the 2 people that you DON'T want to vote for?". "Get your votes in peeps and let us know the two people you don't want to vote for this round!"

When 'up' really means up and 'down' really means down here I'll begin voting again.

Brilliant idea came upon me: "Vote for your favorite!" OR "Vote for your top 3" but keep track and display the position won.

:io:
That is a point. Vote for say 3 instead of 7....

OMG!!! What? Miracles CAN happen LOL!

Thank you RiffMaestros! Jethro makes a late run, tying for first, but a later entry for a 1-2 Saskatchewan finish!
A five way tie for third, WOW! How competitive is that? But Come Together actually came first,
taking Third.

Congrats to all others gaining five points!

You've revealed your first song guitar secret, perhaps you’ve tested your rhythm method with yje cowbell conkin’, made wailin’ moans with slippy slidin’, and brought us some fiery excitement via tippy tappin’!

Now it’s time maybe to put all those skills together, and become a
full blown Guitarman LOVE MACHINE!

Chapter 5 - Soundtrack of Love

The RiffMasters Round 5 Main Event demands you create a minimum one minute of sonic seduction! While most of you are far too morally superior to have spent any idle minutes viewing questionable video material, you may have heard tell a lot of that filth, particularly vintage 80’s stuff, features multiple hot loads of incendiary guitar track delivery. Word is in Hollywood, whenever any drugged-out rock star needs a quick shot of money, the flick industry has a voracious appetite for steamy shreddin’. So, my music bed RiffMasters, this is YOUR time to pull out all the stops to heat up the onscreen action with your sizzliest hot background track. Sorry, we can’t pay you this time, but think of the exposure you’ll receive! Slimeball movie producers by the dozen are listening to hear if you can gradually raise the temperature of your guitar playing towards a climactic moment to be timed perfectly with the actors. Krystal and Tony now wait for YOU to help ramp up the action, entertaining those who enjoy this stuff, even if mostly for the music.

Your Challenge:
Create a minimum 1:00 “Soundtrack of Love,” posted in this thread before deadline. However, it’ll be far better for you if you show some stamina and take your time for at least a couple minutes, to really be fondly remembered. Note I will be cutting your submitted audio to the video below, basically just plopping it on. Can’t use a full-on blue vid, bcz. reasons, Sorry to disappoint! But, this will have do for demonstration purposes.

To end Chapter 5, TTR members will judge who among us created the scorchiest, burny-est music beds.

Multiple approaches here. Will you funk it real good with the ol’ standard chicka-chicka-wah-wah thang? Maybe a sultry slow burn, gradually cranking it up, bringin’ ‘er home in an all-in saucy lick-fest? Might even opt for a soft, sensitive vibe focusing on the romantic side of things via acoustic guitar, string section, etc. All viable options. Perhaps your music bed will mimic your own haphazard lovin’ style... Consider your capabilities and musical approach carefully. Know your TTR audience, what they might best enjoy, that’ll surely help deliver votes!

Note carefully how the onscreen action warms up kind of gradual, but soon begins to thrust forward into waves of multiple peaks around the 1:50/2:08/2:20 marks, then cooling down for relief.

Scoring will be an automatic 5 points for participating. Or, 10 for top vote, 7 pts each, second/ third place. In a tie situation, it's the bump scenario as per usual.

Bonus points available:
Additional creativity with sound effects, (don’t be lewd or gross please) = 1pt.
Put it together yourself, using the same supplied footage so I don’t have to do it for you = 1pt.

Deadline: if you will not be doing your own video edit, your deadline is five days sooner.
So May 11th 7PM, for audio only. May 16th 7PM CST if you are submitting a completed music/video.

No RiffMasters Main Event Challenge is mandatory. Anyone can drop in at any time, and you should!

Is that video downloadable?…for writing purposes only, of course…

@Thatbastarddon I guess I could do the Dropbox thing but I forget how that works. I assumed everyone has some video capture software. My bad! I'll see if I can put it on Google docs or something too... any other suggests?
