The entire bias pot board is an available replacement part.
You don't have to solder it if you really don't want to.

Holy crap....I was led to believe that these were not available anywhere.

Thanks a million bro, that makes me feel better about giving it a go, because if all else fails and I really goof it up, there's still hope!

...I expect it's probably not too cheap though...but IT EXISTS!!

Out of curiosity, as I'm sure you've seen this happen before, what happens if someone destroys the board and there's no replacement? Probably a matter of cannibalizing another dead amp's parts? NOS parts? :poo:outtaluck?
I've used wires to replace burned traces on boards.
Just a matter of jumping betwixt the terminals, but it's one of the crudestest forms of hackdom.

I know of two Hot Rod Deluxes that are still living because of this, when the screen resistors self destructed and played 4th of July with the board they were mounted to.
Though this was done for a quick fix, not a lack of availability.

IT is well documented in the annals of TTR that I HATE soldering -- with a red hot passion (lol)

It is the bane of man and a tool of the devil and can be traced to all things wrong in the world (Kinda like a Kevin Bacon thing but takes more steps)

That said if AMS would like to ATTEMPT to teach me how to do this evil (though the duct tape co. is going to drop market share if I do) ---I would be HAPPY to attempt the course.

What say you all --- the poll is open (no strip dancing please unless you are hot of course.....then well go right ahead)

What say you AMS --- think your MAD enough to try?

Lesson 2
Cleaning the soldering tip.
If the tip isn't clean, you can't solder.
