On a brighter note, ive never noticed any tonal difference in a couple 16ths of a inch or so on the P90 Dog Ear.
Shims are helpful, but inadequate. You must take off the strings, add a shim, test the sound, add another. Also, you cannot adjust the sides to different heights. How many thickness shims do they have anyway? You can now achieve adjustability ray and enjoy the HOWL of a Dog ear.......
SHIMS!!!

Yes, but with a tuner more than your ears. I think it would take a month or 2 to A/B a fair sample of heights and sand shims for them until you picked the one you liked best. Why not just GET ADJUSTABLE PICKUPS?you could through a process of sanding and adjusting achieve the optimal prefered angle --- does the nut and bridge saddles not need adjustment in a similar fashion?

I like that Rondo there.
