"I still go on the ESG page ; I didnt catch what sparked the rebellion.
I got a little chaffed a time a two but things get heated sometimes, it happens." --jtcnj
Kernel says, +1 on that.
I like to keep things positive, and look toward 2017 rather than backward. I have not burnt any bridges,
and still go on board at ETSG.
It's true that many of my friends from that forum have found their way here. So it seems like home here.
But I'll tell you what piques my curiosity: Who will arise to take our places if we all cease and desist over there?
I'm a firm believer in the Human Spirit, and in the tendency for someone to arise when no one's leading the band.
A vacuum will always be filled.
Keeping things positive, I wonder whose voices will become the in crowd there, and where they will lead the
people. So I'm curious enough to hover occasionally and observe. Also, I'm an SG guy. *grins
I have been shocked and horrified by behavior on other fora. F'rinstance, I was actually ejected from the
"Gibson SG Owner's Group" on twitface. *laughs ...Somebody posted a thread about some high priced 'vintage"
guitar, and the title of the thread was "Should I do it?" Being who I am, I proceeded to list a number of reasons
why he should NOT. *shrugs ...The OP turned out to be one of the New Admins, and he took an extremely dim view of my
opinion (and probably the long winded nature of my prose) and reacted furiously, shouting that stuff like what I
said had no place on his forum, and the next thing I knew, the whole thing disappeared. Access Denied.
It was a very strange feeling, to be out in the cold. brrrrr.... But I haven't missed it. It seemed like it was turning
into the "Vintage Gibson SG owner's group" anyway. If they can't take my gentle words of caution, they're pretty
fragile.
I'm sure that guys who attempt to take part in a forum while only using a phone... will mostly hate to see my
avatar show up, because they have to work so hard to scroll past all my bull

. Personally, if all I had was a
phone to use, I would never go to any forum. 'Appy Polly Lodgies... I do like to write... with both hands, on a
keyboard, with a nice big monitor.
I have been known to hang out on the Martin Guitar forum. Talk about cork sniffers.
I actually never go visit MLP (not being a Les Paul guy) unless it's on
a link someone shares, where there's real knowledge and information to be had. So I try not to say much about that place...
preferring to discuss what I actually know about. So the Martin Forum seems like a hangout for wealthy collectors
of very high grade guitars. I posted a thread about my beloved (but humble) Martin XC1T and got no likes, few views
and only a small number of comments. I was crushed. (not)
I think I remember trying to redeem myself by posting a thread about my 1936 Martin 0-17, and got some responses
where they boasted about their first edition EC signature Martin 0028 parlor guitar and others responded by discussing
how much better Adirondack Spruce was than Sitka, and on and on ad nauseum. *shrugs My pore ol' 0-17 is made of
Mahogany, and she's 80 years old and rings like a bell. She's been on hundreds of stages with me, out and making music
since like 1985... she's a real player and cork sniffers can pound sand.
Of course, there are interesting posts, and I do enjoy the repartee between guys who actually know a lot about
tone wood. People say that a mahogany acoustic sounds darker than one with a spruce top, but it's not true. or else my
ears have corks in them... how would I know?
Anyway, I have been so distressed and horrified by 2016 as a hole, that I will cast my vote here to keep it all positive
and try to mend our tattered spirits in an excellent place. Make a truce with each other, and let all the bad stuff slip-slide
away. Sound like a plan?
