Just how many is too many? I have never even heard of a 9 string guitar. 7 & 8’s yes, 9’s no. How the hell do you play this thing.

For sure. Just commented on a @frostyjr2 post how I struggle with 6. No way I could do 8….. 9? Just bury me now.Just how many is too many? I have never even heard of a 9 string guitar. 7 & 8’s yes, 9’s no. How the hell do you play this thing.
In other words, if your aunt had balls she’d be your uncle? For those of you in a band without a bass player, and now you can play both. It's like a doubleneck guitar, only different.

This is turning into “mine is bigger than yours” deal."Nine? HAH! This one goes to 11!!"
... and for the purpuses of this discussion, let's possibly agree that for paired or tripled course string stuff
like traditonal 12 string guitars or mandolins or the Tom Petersson 12 string bass each course will only be
counted as a single string, since that's how they are normally used in any case.
Which brings us to:

Damn, dude! Is that one of those RI redneck jokes? In other words, if your aunt had balls she’d be your uncle?
Possibly, I’ll have to check.Damn, dude! Is that one of those RI redneck jokes?![]()
And yes, there are times when a few extra strings are helpful. There are times when 6 strings are more than sufficient.
