But, the old Ibanez tremolos - before they came out with the Floyd Rose licensed 'Edge' series, were terrible tremolo units...

Thought you might like to see the specifications from the build: - This is from the order instructions:

Ibanez Destroyer 3 Pickup (DT-555 Style) Black with Cream Binding - Original Production Blueprints Provided

All "Ibanez," "Crafted in Japan" and "Destroyer II" markings in Gold as the original. The custom Serial Number will be "A840003" in original style font

All Gold hardware - Foyd Rose Flush-Mount Bridge

Premium 3 piece abalone inlay as original - 4 piece at 12th fret as original

Original wiring configuration (Ibanez diagram attached) with .033 UF K40Y tone capacitor

Pickups - Wilkinson WHH-IV Cream/Cream are fine - I can also send you our own custom pickups if required - Please advise on your supply level

Pickup ring mounting screws should be black - screw heads must fit holes perfectly. Not too large or small.

All cavities will be coated with electronic shielding paint

Rosewood Fret Board - Best grade available regardless of cost offset between ebony and rosewood

Neck Thickness at 1st Fret - 21mm (0.826")

Neck Thickness at 12th Fret - 24.5mm (0.964)

Neck Width at Nut - 43mm

Neck Width at Last Fret - 57mm

Neck Radius - 305mm (12") single radius

Fretwire: Dunlop 6130 - 0.096" x 0.047" (2.4mm x 1.2mm) fret wire must be leveled by hand to a height of .028" to .032"

Scale Length 24.75"

Keys: Gotoh or Grover consistent with original Ibanez in appearance

Nut: Floyd Rose R3 for 12" radius

I had to make a decision on knobs. Original DT555's had a brass plated pot metal knob known as the Ibanez Sure Grip 1. When you can find them, they can fetch up to $100 for three of them. I considered the plastic Ibanez Sure Grip 2, but instead opted for an aftermarket, high quality brass knurled knob, similar to what Schechter is currently using....

From the picture Robert the knobs you used look similar to these 35 year old knobs from my Ibanez Blazer
