1968-1970 SG Junior

From what I've read, seen, heard over the years... it would be late '70 if it has "Made In USA." That was the same time they introduced the volute on the back of the headstock to prevent breakage. But, you never know with Gibson.
Youre 100% right in that, that applies to the later 1970 models. There is a weird point between Made in USA and NOT having the Volute and its a very brief few months of production. By the end of 1970, they all had volutes and made in USA. Which by its serial number, in the 900000 range, this is kinda leaning on the later part of the year as that range of serial numbers extended to 1972 due to slower sales, but possible to be that weird pre volute issue

I totally understand and agree. You could dig up a late 60s model for that same price range or something completely different altogether in a guitar

Or, you could wait a little while longer. I'm sure there will be many wives selling their late husbands' guitars for what they were told their value was when purchased. Not to be an opportunist, but I'm putting away cash each paycheck for an ES-345 or ES-335 this spring when the covid numbers have gone up a bit more. Sorry to be so morbid.

Folks here in WV used to do that all the time when coal miners would strike or the industry would bottom out every 6-7 years. You want a nearly new boat, guns, guitars or a Tv? Hang around the local classifieds during a mining event and jump on it lol

I rarely see huge fluctuations here. What I sometimes notice is periods with far more or far less guitars for sale butvthe prices don't seem to make any sudden leaps one way or another.

It's not like I NEED this but you know... Want ;)
