NGD - SG Junior

Congrats that a beauty!
I really dig that type of guitar in general.

Thanks - they are a simple but effective and beautiful music machine.

I think I can speak for 99% of our forum who have seen your Jr. It is a marvelous and beautiful purchase you have made.
I wish you much enjoyment of her.

And here is what I'd say are deep and full bevels.

Thanks to everyone for their support - you're all welcome to pop in and play her when you're in Korea!

&, yes, I'm now a bevel convert. Here are her bevels:

I'm not going to Korea any time soon but you might see the bassist from my old band Terania (the band I played the pink Junior in) in Korea in July as he is touring there with his new band (new for him) Apteria. You probably remember that photo I posted on ETSG of us playing with Mob 47 where he weirdly looks like a cardboard cutout due to the lighting:

Wow!! Very very nice SG Junior, Mr Grump. That is one sweet looking axe.

Thank you, Bocc69 - she's fun.

Yeah, I remember; love that guitar.

Yeah, I remember that photo too; it's a great photo (&, he clearly is a cut out!).

So, I listened to that band, their site said "Adelaide Crust Punk", but it sounded quite Death Metal-ish to me (I'm not at all knowledgeable in this space...)>

I'm gassing for an Esquire...

Funnily enough, I went straight to the Squire site to see if they do an affordable Esquire...

Regarding juniors and punk/powerchording...

I've never been good at powerchording (I've never been able to play the guitar well or even decently...), but one thing I said to myself was that if I get this junior then I will bloodywell use it and play it! &, I will bloodywell learn to play punk powerchords and abuse classic songs just by punk-powerchording them! Since the day I got it, I've spent at least 45 mins per day just going up and down the 6th powerchords (yes, I'm that crap and basic) - and the junior let's me just play them with my thumb over on the lowE (which I've never been able to do before for some strange reason) getting pretty clean, palm muting or not, and just feels right.

I should have got one of these years ago; I love the look of the white buttons, the no fuss fretboard dots and the single puppy - and so many punky bands use them that I really should have worked this out earlier. I was looking at some pictures on Google Images and this one popped up:

Ha ha yeah those are mine

That's from the week when I got the yellow one, that's how it looked when I first got it.

Grumpy, I liked the white buttons that SG Classics have. So when I bought mine and it had Keystone's on it, I swapped the Keystones that came on both my Classic to replace the whole set due to the couple wonky original Keystone Kluson tuners on my Black 87 SG Special. Then bought a set of white button ones for my Classic.

One of the odd things about my Junior is the pickup placement. I don't know which other Juniors have it but you can see it the photo above that the pickup is further from the bridge (and closer to the neck) than normal

Gotcha DD.

I wonder if it doesn't have to do with something I mighta read elsewhere how some Jr's had odd knob placements or other not keeping it original type build details.

I would have to research expected specs vs the oddity ones.

Yes, mine started out like the one in the middle. Colour names are Caribbean Blue, Coral Pink, & Corona Yellow. They were made for Yamano in Japan, but when Yamano's dealership ended in 2006 some of them were sold in other markets.

The SG-X had the same colours plus a couple of others. They called them 'beach colours'

Guitars come and go, but that right there is special. A fresh congratulations is in order!
