NGD - SG Junior

I was looking at those 3 Beach Color Jr's and in my own special way had a wicked thought.
If I bought a Jr. I would know what my first planned mod would be. I would install a 3 way switch just to mess with people's minds.
Don't be surprised if some of those people actually think they hear a difference when you toggle that dummy switch... ;)

It would be pretty easy to fit. There is a channel under the pickguard, it could go there.

The horns on my SG-II have no bevelling at all in the cutaways.

The horror! RVA could lend you a chisel.

I don't know which other Juniors have it but you can see it the photo above that the pickup is further from the bridge (and closer to the neck) than normal

Yes, that's clear on the pictures - how do you notice it affecting the sound?

A fresh congratulations is in order!

Thank you, Sir. I did play around with drop-D yesterday (for the first time), and while it makes life easier for power chords and also going into little licks between power chords, there is a distinctly different sound that is nice, but maybe a little bit dark and 'modern'/grungy for my ears? So, the thumb over and 6th string powerchords is doing the job for the time being. Gonna have to experiment more with the drop D and try some Soundgarden/Korn type stuff (in a very basic sense...). :D

If I bought a Jr. I would know what my first planned mod would be.

I don't wanna be a cork sniffer, but the thought of modding my junior kinda feels me with dread - I don't even wanna change the strings in case something terrible happens, some mojo is lost... o_O

This sounds good too:

I love the way you can get fuzzy OD sounds without pedals.

The best thing about an SG Junior is that you have way more picking room without a neck pick up. You can finger pick or use a regular pick better with all that room underneath the strings to get more dynamics and so forth.
