To be fair, the little dimples are plain brass, so technically they are colored gold and the rest of the knob is silver
But I know what you mean. When I first got mine it kind of bugged me, because I had owned a Recto Solo head years ago and the knobs are much bigger and easier to see the dot on, but then I realized you shouldn't dial it in by sight just the sound because the Mesa tone stack doesn't work quite like other amps and your eyes will be telling you it's "wrong"
The paint technique might do the trick. Fingernail polish, maybe.Ok my first complaint. The knobs do not have colored marks of any sort. Just dimples, time to break out the Restore paint to fill them in. Damn all most a deal breaker.![]()

You might want to give The Hollywood, California Mesa Boogie store a call for their opinion. The one time I was there, I was very impressed with the few people that work there. Very helpful and honest.these do look good, may have to go with the small. thanks for the heads up.

I understand what your saying about the eyes telling you wrong. But once it is dialed in, it would be nice to have a point of reference for the future.
Congrats CF, that is some serious hardware!!
What is particular that you like about this - the EL84 tone, vs other EL84 amps you dont?
The tone is closer to that of a 6L6, but with the response characteristics of the EL84, if that makes sense.
Other EL84 have a tone I just am not crazy about.
I know you (ChasFred) were planning to load the Greenback 10 into a sealed 1x10 cab, but Goldmember has a point with the V30's, specifically the Mesa/Boogie version of the V30. I use my Mini Rec primarily with one of these:

Sealed back 1x12 Recto Cab with a Mesa V-30. It's seriously a match made in heaven, gives the low end a thump that you won't get elsewhere for the size, and they are very competitively priced, especially when you compare to what other builders charge for similar quality.
OK as soon as my reverb rocket sells, this is what I am getting for a speaker cabinet for the Mini Rectifier . . .
