How do you classify yourself, A Rhythm player, a lead, or both

I play rhythm and lead. When I jam with my friend we go back and forth its a blast. When I practice just for kicks I will switch back and forth, for example when I do get back I will play a portion of the song than throw in the mix of the lead guitar parts in it. Its great practice and keeps things spiced up a bit.

I play both, but when I am home practicing/noodling its usually one or the other. Some days I will improvise over tracks I haven't heard before as a mental exercise to see if I can get the "feel" and predict chord changes, dynamics, pacing. Other days I put on jam tracks and just wank all over the top of them. None of this is fit for the consumption of other people, believe me. My wife goes shopping while these nightmare scenarios are playing out

Some days I actually try to write music, haha.

My wife classifies me as a "Poser." Kinda like the kids you see holding a skateboard, but not skating. They just pose with the board. Well I don't pose with my guitar, but I'm surely no rock star. I can barely play well enough to entertain myself. however I do make an attempt and playing lead, rhythm and bass.

I play a bit of both...mostly improvised lead guitar playing. Rhythm and lead playing usually go hand-in-hand. Rhythm playing seems to be under-rated compared to lead playing but I find playing rhythm guitar right is quite a task in itself.

Both. Haven't played in a band for years, but in all bands but one I was either the only guitarist (doing both) or the lead guitarist who also doubled on rhythm. But, now days it might be better to say I attempt both - lol...

Rhythm, but learning lead stuff is on my bucket list and is what I’m working on.

Yup...noodler!!
I practice lead way more than rhythm. It's the dream, right? Is for me. But really I just noodle around, practice scales, licks etc. That rhythm is more difficult than advertised.
