I pretty much put strap locks on all my guitars/bass's. My all time favorites are made by Dunlop.

Oh no ! I'm looking in places I haven't looked for years. I thought I had A set of strap locks, so I go hunting and what do I find, a BUNCH of strap locks that don't have homes. This could get expensive

I think the plastic ones on my SG Standard are Dunlop. They work a bit like the Grolsch grommet but you can take them on and off more easily. I had the Schaller type on my Explorer originally and didn't like them. Too many parts to come loose. I put DiMarzio ClipLock straps on my SG Special Faded, SG Junior, and Explorer. The Explorer is an Epiphone with poly paint so that has been no problem. The ClipLock wore off the paint on the two nitro guitars, hence why I didn't fit them to the Standard. The other two are kind of beat up looking gigging guitars so it wasn't a big deal. I would only ever use the ClipLocks live, I don't trust the others. My Schecter will get a ClipLock strap once it is set up for gigging. At the moment it has a Grolsch grommet on the back button, and none on the horn button. I found the strap kept coming off at the back

Also Don I'm digging that RV-3. How's it been treating you?

Once again I agree with you! I have the measurements and buy a bag of black ones that will last a lifetime. You know it! You can't keep drilling wood, because soon you will have a sloppy hole.

Keep on doing it and a screw will pop. The first screw in and out changes everything.

I put a drop of oil in the hole and let it sit for a hour or so. The oil swells up the wood a little and it retains that expansion. My grand dad taught me that wood working trick when I was about 10.

I just use a thick strap and an oversize strap button. Once I put the strap on the guitar, I don't take it off. I just figure out a way to fold the strap into the case while still attached to the guitar.

I do the same but I put the rubber washers on.

Dunlop...put them on my first guitar in 1980.

I make custom, non-adjustable straps for every guitar.



Top - strap I made for my Silvertone in 1980. Works on all Strat-esque guitars including my Ibanez bass.

Bottom - strap I had made for my Von Herndon prototype Doublneck.

Much prefer the rubber washer / Grolsch or other by far.
They tend to spin the strap button though so you gotta check them to see if the screw is backing out.
