Tiny, tiny amp.

So, I impulse-bought one of these things the other day

Blackstar-Fly-3-Battery-Powered-Practice-Amp-box_2048x@2x.jpg

And I have to say it has turned out to be a pleasant surprise for $59.
I had wanted some sort of battery-powered, headphoney-use thing for a while and figgered there was nothing to lose for the price, and taking into consideration the size and price the thing sounds pretty righteous and more like a "real" amp than expected. Highly recommended for the money.

Does it have the "panning" delay feature?????

I have 2 tiny amps-----
TWEED and VOX all the loveliness none of the high cost.......

How can you not love TWIN 2" speakers!?!?!?

They will be all the rage ---after Jack Black or Jack White--or Ed Purple or SOMEBODY records a HIT album using one...........they will FLY off the shelves ...wait no

gball got the FLY ......so how the...... ---wait---- carry the 4----- oh SON OF A B.......

I had one -- they are a fun bit of kit for sure. At one time I had a collection of battery powered amps in the 1 to 2 watt range ---the Danelectro ones are a riot especially if plugged into a BOSE home theatre system and CRANKED.......

I came very close to buying the stereo "kit" but that would have kind of defeated the purpose for me. I just wanted something as small and portable as possible that still sounded at least OK for late night and sitting on the patio. The single box fits the bill perfectly.

I bought an Orange Micro Dark a few weeks ago with the intent of using it as a headphone amp and I am really disappointed with it, the thing sounds absolutely horrible through 'phones. I don't expect a $189 amp to rival my Mark 5:25 through headphones but it is so bad that it is unusable that way (sounds righteous through my 4x12 though!). This little Blackstar is much much better through the headphones and better yet through the speaker so it turned out to be a great purchase.

I bought a Roland Micro Cube and it is a great little amp. I sits under the end table next to my chair and I use it constantly. It's perfect to throw into the camper when we go. Battery or electric.....

FullSizeRender.jpg Very good then, I have one of them $19.99 Dano amps with a real leather handle. I love my little Vox Night Train 2 watt tube amp. It comes with out a speaker, them bastards won't sleep till they get on my nerves.

Has what they call "tape delay" but it sounds like a model of an analog delay stompbox. Anyway, I don't use more than a tiny splash of it and this thing actually responds pretty well to the guitar volume. So well I think it's just a small SS amp, not based on one of their amp models from the ID Cores.

I believe you are right not based on the ID Core series. The ID Core series amps I didn't like any of them. The sounds that come out of the Blackstar 3 IMHO is better than the sounds that come from ID core series.

I had an ID Core 10 for a while, and it sounded really great running directly into recording software. So good I miss having it for that purpose alone. But, I got rid of it as a practice amp because it was impossible to dial out the nasally-quality that it had.
