So, when I started playing this guitar, I thought "holy biscuits, these strings are tough!"
I knew it had been strung with D'Addario XL's but I didn't remember the gauge used.
Its a NOTICEABLY heavier string than the EB Hybrid .009's I'm using on my Gibson SG and the tone is just jaw dropping.
When I say "tone" I mean the string to string clarity and the "punch" that each string produces. Some of this may be the guitar, but I think some of it is in the strings.
So, I measured this morning:
.011" - .015" - .019" - .028" - .038" - .048"
I know these double necks are really shorter than 24.75" scale and the 1/2 step bend in Tesla's Love Song (at the 20th fret) is tough, but the attack and sustain is simply incredible.
Here you can see the multi-colored ball ends....but I can't find a set that measures out to these numbers.....?????
