Meeting of the Mindless - Mid-Atlantic Edition

So...who else beside me and Wav are out here on the Left Coast within range of LA or Long Beach?

Our monthly Meeting of the Mindless has caught on and is sweeping the country by storm...
Bravo gents. A splendid tradition to uphold.
Here in the swamp, it's looked upon with great joy and anticipation.
In fact we were supposed to celebrate a MOTM today, at the beach, mocking snowbird tourists.
But plans changed and Adrians home repairs won out over playtime & drinking games.

Tis true and sad --- yes--- I should be heading west to Clearwater in an hour but instead....I am awaiting the roofers....4 months since Hurricane Irma.....bought time they show up!!! :)

DO IT

I put a Gibson soapbar in the middle position of a Squire Strat once.....sounded PHAT baby

It's kinda low on the guitar priority list right now, though I reserve the right to be fickle and put it at the top of the list at any moment!

But, I am thinking seriously about it.

I'm thinking through the various switching schemes and how I could use push-pull pots to expand the options.

All kidding about non-adjustable dog-ears aside, they would be a better choice as they would require less invasive routing on the body.

Hey, I just realized, if I did this, I could join the P-90 Club and Hackmaster's Three-Pickup Club all at the same time! Maybe I should really do this 'cuz I wanna be cool and I want the other kids to like me!

Maybe a tri-state area one as well.

Visiting Tony is not entirely outside the realm of possibility for me. We swing by New York whenever we drive up to Maine. Though, we usually skirt around the city and take the Tappan Zee Bridge.

You're already one of the cool kids Smitty, you have Bigsby's!

Those Bigsbys on Smitty's guitars sure got me in a whole different world. I even had to ask him, 'is it much different putting them in cases with them on the guitars.' That and him picking up his LP Studio w/o one or my 3 SG's and LP without one, and hearing him say, " I keep reaching for the whammy"

You're in for a treat. They are replacing the old TZB with a brand new matched pair of cable stayed spans.
The northbound one is open and the southbound is nearly done. Might I add that they are spectacular.

Smitty, if I ever made a tri state trip to see Tony and jam, I'd have to hone my chops to the level of Mitch so he isn't disappointed.

Nope.
1- It's all about the FUN for me, never about who has the biggest "guitar balls".
2- Just because I gig does NOT mean I am in any way proficient on a guitar.
Let me put it another way. My playing will never dazzle anyone.

While I'm at it, we are also replacing the old Kosciuszko bridge across
Newtown Creek with another spectacular set of matched cable stay spans.
My city does not believe in moderation of any kind whatsoever.

  • old bridge
  • new bridge

Brother Tony, that was all tongue n cheek like how you had me laughing so hard about the sounding as good as Mitch comment.
That was a good one.

Now the FUN part is definitely up my alley. (already knows there are girl players with bigger "guitar balls" than me"

That would almost make it worth it.

That, and some authentic, thin-crust, New York-style pizza.

Now, that’s a treat!
