Even the '87 Squier?

When I pick up a different scale/radius, it just feels so awkward and foreign, that I am distancing myself from them completely. I'm planning on putting a 24.75" scale neck on it and I will likely put the '87 Squire neck on the Bandleaders badly worn out Epiphone Tele...

thats what I LIKE--- a little variety baby life is short

I can appreciate that....for me, the feel and the string tension become familiar and a change in scale just frustrates me and I do not play as 'polished' on a 25.5" scale, so I have stopped playing the altogether. ALL I play now is the SG, both for unplugged practice and for performances....no change in feel.

YEs...but you can play -----I suck so all that stuff doesnt matter same guitar for 20 years or 100 in 20 days--- still sounds like shite ;)

at least I am consistent!

You play well from what I have heard. I'm a nerd....let me give you an example - we do "Peaceful easy feeling" by Eagles, and in the solo, there are a series of what I call "Bends In The Blind" where you bend a string in complete silence and estimate the correct pitch by the tension, then you pluck the note and release. On my Gibson, I can nail it everytime, but when I switch to the Squire, I am flat and have to bend the string higher to achieve pitch. Sticking with one scale length just makes these licks effortless....

Well thank you but I am just making that crap up-- havent a clue what I am doing--

As for you--- you do WHAT in complete silence? -- oh JUST THE THOUGHT of that scares me ---is there such a thing ?? Between, dogs, cats,birds,wife,a/c units- dehumidifiers / search helicopters meth lab explosions mexican firework celebrations and tinnitus.......I cant imagine...true.....complete silence......

Best player in my family, my son. Takes him 30 seconds to adjust between guitars.
Next best, my wife. She just plays whatever is in her hands, you actually have to tell her the neck is wider or the scale length is longer, she just gets on with it.
Bottom of the tree. Me I'm like Robert in that I notice and take way too long to adjust.
Conclusion, ability and adaptability aren't linked.

I think I'm more like a "Rain Man" or something.... :-)
