2018 Gibson Lineups

I thinks Gibson guitars are way over-priced PERIOD!

I have to say, I don't share that opinion. Obviously because I keep buying the things haha, but really, when I look around at what you get for the money with other makers I find them to be excellent value. The nitro finishes alone are worth a huge premium over the plastic coating you get with most makers IMO. As for the head angle, I agree an argument could be made but in all the years of my playing guitar I have found that the fear of a headstock break is much much greater than the reality of a headstock break. They do happen, but nowhere near the frequency people would have you believe in my experience. That being said, my favorite Gibson necks by far are the-degree, 3-piece maple necks on Norlin-era Les Pauls.

I don't know about the nitro finishes being worth a huge premium. I believe it's just a myth the nitro lets your guitar breathe better. It let's it breath when the finish starts peeling off. It just ages better like on my Gibson SG or my 1952 AVRI Fender Tele.

Oh no, I never said anything about "breathing." They look better, feel better, wear and age better and are easier to repair.
