Perhaps you should imagine it with less electric guitar and boogie shuffle, but with a more mariachi style arrangement... P:lol:

"El Jarabe Tapatio", which apparently means something like 'the thick sauce', aka the Mexican Hat Dance.

Had to check out “Spoiler.” Among other things…. Used in Loony Tunes shorts. I believe in a few commercials.

Not entirely "like the record", but I think it's recognizable.
Norman Greenbaum. "Spirit in the Sky." Knew the song with the first note, so ya done good. Had to google who did it. Even then, I don't remember the artist, just the song.

Absolutely right, of course! When the first note gives it away, I guess I must have done something right - thanks! While I can't remember what Norman supposedly used, I had a Tele and AC15. IIRC there's some heated debate about the distortion he used. The 'fuzzed out' tone on this is just the VOX being squeezed to within an inch of its life through a closed 1x12 GB cab.

The sky was my directional vector…super subtle, and stupidly wrought…I know.
Funny story…kid I grew up with…talented guitarist…moved out to Cali to make it…living with this girl…he’s not having the success he’d hoped for, and is getting fed up with the scene…the girl asks him to play for her band…he says no way, you’re never gonna make it, and he moves home…supposedly that girl was the singer in that band.

Edit: I can not personally confirm the above story, as it was told to me by a mutual friend of the guitarist that moved home. If nothing, it’s an entertaining scenario. I can confirm that he was involved in that scene, at that time, the right age, doing some studio work and in a working band that had an ugly split…causing his exodus. Also, it fits with his temperament, and personality.
