Unhappy, yes - he's between a rock (VS) and a hard place (disgruntled members). They're not really his boss unless he's on the payroll, he could just walk away but after so many years that's not an easy thing. From what I understand they weren't told much if anything. They're really just 'volunteers on the platform' from the VS perspective.

Exactly. Alex sold it all to another company and they passed it on to VS. I forget the name of the intermediate one, something-media or so. Anyhow, all their sites are *identical* to a tee pretty much, there's no exceptions here.

^^ I won't edit my original message as it would obscure the context. Instead, I would like to add that I'm confident this is not the truth, and I would like to retract that statement. It has been brought to my attention that it was defamatory in nature and uncalled for. While I stand by the fact that I was floating a hypothesis rather than stating fact, it was not my intention to cause any harm.

Not really, the atmosphere was very similar to here (I noticed a lot of the same people active in both places), but when Skynet (VS) went live with the new software they went scorched earth and changed everything, including forum policies. The little Mom & Pop corner store was just assimilated by Wal Mart.

Too bad because I like Marshall talk but I probably won't be going there much longer. I'm currently going there occasionally, but I'm weaning myself off.

I wish more of those guys would come over here.
