I've been banned from the Marshall Forum...

'The Fog of War'. I'm not certain what happened. Suddenly the moderation acted what I think was *not* right, and after that, all went down to Hell. Anyway, see you tomorrow, I'm er... intoxicated. I make my own booze, and it's just too good!

Have a good one, mate!

It is possible that Cross is just as unhappy with the changes as the rest of us and is just trying to not anger his new bosses. We don’t know what they have been told about how things are to be run, if they were told anything at all.

Unhappy, yes - he's between a rock (VS) and a hard place (disgruntled members). They're not really his boss unless he's on the payroll, he could just walk away but after so many years that's not an easy thing. From what I understand they weren't told much if anything. They're really just 'volunteers on the platform' from the VS perspective.

What we do know is that MF was acquired along with a few other forums that were all under the same prior ownership, so VS is probably adopting a cookie cutter approach to the whole group and likely doesn’t care one bit if a few dozen people on one of the smaller sites don’t like things. We’re nothing to them.

Exactly. Alex sold it all to another company and they passed it on to VS. I forget the name of the intermediate one, something-media or so. Anyhow, all their sites are *identical* to a tee pretty much, there's no exceptions here.

FWIW I have always had good PMs with both Dogs and Cross and have always considered them as friends. I do hope they are OK.

For the record, so do I.

My guess is antidepressants. He's chemically tripping. Cross used to be pretty straightforward and to the point. Trying to give things a positive push in the 'right' direction, but he's been all flowers and buttercups recently. This is the ugly side, it seems.

^^ I won't edit my original message as it would obscure the context. Instead, I would like to add that I'm confident this is not the truth, and I would like to retract that statement. It has been brought to my attention that it was defamatory in nature and uncalled for. While I stand by the fact that I was floating a hypothesis rather than stating fact, it was not my intention to cause any harm.

That'll be over twenty forums for around five million dollars (Robert Pavlick of Enthused Digital owned MF).

VerticalScope have over 1200 "online communities" and an "aggressive AI initiative".

The TTR search and rescue team are operating in a genuine Matrix.
