Especially if you’re into Vogon poetry.Sure, the words rhyme, but that doesn't make it poetry.

That is an accurate description , the problem for me doing a record and the reason I will use Suno it is my voice is not usable for singing . The first song I came up with this week and completely wrote lyrics for I put in Suno and the melody fits the song. It is such a very basic chord structure it reminds of the junk I have written. It’s not much of a stretch. I will play guitar and bass instruments.@kerry. It's NOT a competition in any way shape of form except against yourself.
NOT NOT NOT NOT NOT NOT NOT. NO. It's NOT
You are only competing in tackling what is a monstrous personal project to see if you can do it.
I wonder if any of us will be able to see it through, even WITH AI.
@Kerry Brown listen, tell me this lacks soul

I won't say a word, sorta, but ye that major in Eschatology for a hobby & passion & outreach ... i know the how & why the way the story ends .... his story , so to say.... that is a gentle video actually... bring it brother...
There are some major misconceptions regarding "occult" stuff. You're right: that guy was a bit wonky (or intentionally sensationalizing for views)Edit, that video was a bit wonky so I removed it. The guy started going occult. Good thing I started proofing it. It started off ok.
@BFT Gibson I'm not sure why you are posting your studio process in this thread. Honestly, I believe it deserves it very own and could be helpful to many here - suggest you do that, because I hope you post more, just doesn't really fit in this topic too well.
Very valid point on the word occult ! HiddenI like this video, and glad that someone is finally talking about Rick's methods. Too bad the guy seems to know little about it.

First off the word "occult" simply means "to hide". I'm not entirely sure where along the way that we decided that it must have something to do with dark rituals, magick, and spirits and witchcraft, but that's not necessarily what that is. Sure, gnostics, thelemites, rosicrucians, hermetics, merkabah mystics, etc, may be considered occult, but only because they're kept out of public eye, but the word they're actually usually looking for is "mysticism" or "esotericism". The freemasons and shriners are also occult, by definition. The skull and bones society is occult. When we have a solar eclipse, the moon occults the sun. Alchemy, the predecessor to chemistry and science, was occult.
My point is, just because we hear the word "occult" doesn't mean it's spiritual, evil, bad, or anything resembling what we tend to imagine when we hear that word. Sure, there are some of those factions out there. But you've never heard of them. That's why they're occult. They're literally hidden.
Rick Rubin is well known to have some esoteric practices (at least to the western mind), but that doesn't mean he's hanging around the recording studio wearing a black robe, sitting cross-legged inside a pentacle made of salt and surrounded by candles while he chants and conjures a dark spirit that he can then sell a soul to in order to get a song on the charts. It just means that he has some lesser known (hidden) philosophies, most of which stem from his studying Buddhism (which normally isn't looked at as "occult"). Obviously some of his methods seem to work well for some of the artists he works with.
When we think of Buddhists we don't automatically jump to the conclusion that they're all witches practicing evil black magick, do we?
That's what the word "occult" makes us do, even though by definition, there isn't any reason for it.
As soon as the guy said he was in to magic at 9 yrs. old, I’m out. That means nothing, kids at 9 are just playing.I like this video, and glad that someone is finally talking about Rick's methods. Too bad the guy seems to know little about it.

I am studying Suno specifically. It’s really funny because I drop an instrumental arrangement from Suno in ChatGPT . AI vs AI and chatGPT analysis said it had a lot of transients and is very noisy. I have sort of picked most of the chords out of it. It is most basic in “B”What did i post here, The AI thread actually challenged me to do the opposite, I am going to do a new thread and get out of the way and i just did the set up post for it here. This type thread motivates, i chose to go at the AI. In a way, you a getting a real life, hands on comparison of the AI experiment vs someone running along side not doing AI, but attempting to achieve the exact same result ! Musical satisfaction !
One better than other, NO, what is best for me is best for me and best for you is best for you. i might jump in threads like anyone is able to, but i wont suggest anything to anyone. Free Will, it a beautiful thing ! Also, the AI talk is very valid as life changes before our eyes again. (Wow has my biz been affected by it pretty hard) ! On a way more important level than making music as our future is shaped whether we like it or not
if you really "think" on it. i gave another reason why people might use even use AI by posting a few simple posts. Look at all the work that i will have to do, for you AI guys, can hit a button and have a song. You are pushing AI & I am countering with the other way. We shall all get to hear the results, learn & hopefully have a friendly ' competitive spirit along the way with the goal of everybody making music !
Enjoy, making music is what it is all about !I am studying Suno specifically. It’s really funny because I drop an instrumental arrangement from Suno in ChatGPT . Here is the thing, it is making me want to do something I never did. Try to learn to sing the notes. It’s hard for me but in the future I will get it.
That is true, it’s hard to get around it. It is a machine. Lots of doom and gloom cast on it for good reasons. I think I will get it out of my system in a month or so.Enjoy, making music is what it is all about !
No right or wrong in art. Think it actually brought out a challenge in me was never going to do had it not come up. What can i do on my own if i actually tried for once. Like the whole process. The threads encouraged me actually. Possibly AI and being so new and affecting so much in life throws up an immediate emotional response before we even understand it all.
Just to be clear lolVery valid point on the word occult ! Hidden
What is wild, from studying quite a bit. The Aramaic & Hebrew words around the theme of modern day word 'occult" , tend to lean toward, what isn't humanly understood or not to be humanly used. You can bring in things like, the Nephilim, Watchers whatever you want to call them. The spiritual beings that passed on forbidden knowledge to humans that no way had the capacity to know on their own at that point. It points out the possibility that the 'tech" has been known since day 1. As knowledge no human was ever intended to have.
I will say this, it was very brutal way back when & seems like tech is like sifting things out all over again but with pre programmed algorithm..but, by whom? To me, it a fascinating time to be alive and watch world events start changing at breakneck speed. Things that were the norm in our lives for the longest time... gone..changed in click of a button.
That does sound wild I openly admit lolAs soon as the guy said he was in to magic at 9 yrs. old, I’m out. That means nothing, kids at 9 are just playing.
I listened twice. Both times it sounded like a Zac Brown Band recording.![]()
